PS3 turning on interrupts wired internet connection
I've noticed this since I've been playing WAR recently. If my roommate turns on his PS3, it drops my net connection for a while. I'll lose my connection to Vent and Warhammer. It's only for maybe a minute, then I can reconnect. I disabled the PS3's internet, but just today I noticed his laptop does this as well when it is turned on.
I figure this is some kind of router problem. I have a Linksys WRT54G, ver 6.
I had the same problem. any time the PS3 connected to my Linksys54GS router the internet connectionw was dropped by all computers. even when trying to stream music from my PC, so I could never get my PS3 connected to my PC.
You might need to set up QoS, I've seen this complaint a few times. The PS3 uses p2p for multi-player matches and even acts hosts the matches depending on the game(s) you're playing. So in short it will suck up all the bandwidth it can.

Dunno about the firmware. The other devices are both wireless.
Updated the firmware to the latest available on the linksys site.
Still doing it?
I haven't noticed, but I don't know if the laptop had been turned on while I'm playing since.
