A bank robber got away with a bag full of mucho money from an armored truck after successfully pulling out a perfect escape plan, straight out the final scene of the Thomas Crown Affair. The criminal—who was wearing a yellow vest, safety goggles, a respirator mask and a blue shirt—used Craigslist to hire a dozen of decoys to confuse the police and the public around the scene. Mike, one of the hired decoys, gave the full details:
I came across the ad that was for a prevailing wage job for $28.50 an hour. He said to meet near the Bank of America in Monroe at 11 a.m. Tuesday. (He also was told to wear a yellow vest, safety goggles, a respirator mask… and, if possible, a blue shirt).
That is pretty awesome. Not for the bank, but I can appreciate the logistics. What other times in history have criminals decided that they are way smarter than the police and actually pulled it off? (post those times)
What that guy pulled off there is much more reminiscent of what the robbers did in that bank heist movie released a couple years back. The one with Clive Owen in it, and that guy somehow being involved with Nazis in the end.

So they figure out what email address registered the account and where he accessed from but if he took a couple small precautions on that end I guess he is home free (depending on what he does with the cash)
At 4:35 PM on Thanksgiving Eve, November 24, 1971 in the United States, a man traveling under the name Dan Cooper hijacked a Northwest Orient Airlines flight 305 flying from Portland International Airport. He carried a briefcase containing wire and "red sticks" resembling dynamite. When the plane landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 5:45 PM, its intended destination, he released the passengers in exchange for $200,000 and four parachutes. At 7:45 PM he had the flight crew take the plane back into the air, ordering them to fly towards Mexico at low speed and altitude with the landing gear down and 15 degrees of flap. Six minutes later, a warning light indicated that the 727's built-in rear stairway had been lowered. Six minutes after that, the crew felt a "bump" suggesting that Cooper had jumped from the ramp into the stormy night somewhere over the Washougal River watershed.
So, the cops didn't arrest the people as accomplices?
Unless they intentionally helped him, they didn't commit any crime.
But they're getting paid to be have a part in it, whether they knew or not. Accepting stolen money is as good as stealing it yourself.
That's a separate issue from accomplice liability.
Also, if they didn't know that the money was stolen, and immediately turned it over to the authorities when/if they found out, they shouldn't face any criminal liability.

That is a fucking class act, and no doubt a major inspiration to The Bank Job.
