This thread is a bitch to keep up with and mod when it's on-topic, and impossible when people use it as a dumping ground for any political news story. If it's not directly related to Obama v. McCain don't post it.

Think it's really important, and still want to post it?

Only 10% of respondents were Republicans and a majority of them were registered Democrats.

All of the independents mirrored the democrats, though, so fuck yeah!

I liked 538s thing today about visitng McCain and Obama HQs in Missouri.
We've observed no comparison between these ground campaigns. To begin with, there’s a 4-1 ratio of offices in most states. We walk into McCain offices to find them closed, empty, one person, two people, sometimes three people making calls. Many times one person is calling while the other small clutch of volunteers are chatting amongst themselves. In one state, McCain’s state field director sat in one of these offices and, sotto voce, complained to us that only one man was making calls while the others were talking to each other about how much they didn't like Obama, which was true. But the field director made no effort to change this. This was the state field director.

    Bolded part is my emphasis.

That's the key chart for an O/U. Height of chart is frequency of a particular result, left to right is increasing number of EC votes for Obama. The average is 333 according to 538, but there's a pretty hard cap of like 350, 360 for Obama (because there are blood red states he just can not win) so try to get it below 300 if you can.

She said she didn’t answer what periodicals she reads because she was “taken aback” by the question and saw it as Couric accusing Alaskans of not being “in tune with the rest of the world.”
She sure showed Couric by making more people think that.

She also apparently made up a quote she said was from Jefferson.

The most recent was mentioned previously here, and he's in the "Why they were banned" thread in Tube's Circus. I'm not sad to see LondonBridge go. The other pro-McCainers here may annoy me at times but at least they make an attempt at a civil discussion.

And bringing it back on topic:
538: Since they are predicting how the election will turn out on Nov. 4th, is their model more or less likely to be shifted by changes in polls as we get closer to the big day?
