I assume whatever version of Fallout you guys are getting is the exact same one right off the original CD. If that's the case, try to resist the urge to kill people with timed explosives. Both games tend to crash on me when I do that. Seems to be an engine flaw.
As far as I know, the modders can't fix it. But it happens a lot less on Win9x systems, so I'm guessing it's an incompatibility with NT. But if this particular version really is "XP compatible", then that might have been fixed as well.
Incidentally, the people making the unofficial patches for Fallout 2 still haven't been able to fix all the quest bugs. And they're still working on it. 10 years worth of bugs in that damn game. Something to think about.

I planned on going to bed.. but i'm an insomniac.. it just didn't work. Oh well i guess i might as well get on that homework, college classes be unforgiving.

Well $6 for XP compatible Fallouts is still totally worth it.
Fallout 2 is on GameTap too now. I dunno about it being part of their free shit though.
