CHECK PAYABLE TO THE EMPEROR AND HIS SCORCHED EARTH STRATEGIES
First one converted!
More pics in my Gallery.
Got one more to do, and then I'll play test them to see if I want to go out and buy a 3rd. I've magnetized the weapon arm so I can use whatever down the line
The Emperor takes forever to cash checks. So annoying.
Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if maybe his health's declining.
So, craft-related question! What's the best way to put magnets in guys' butts? Specifically, some cavalry I'd like to magnetize, to make carrying them to the gaming store in my case easier. Anyone know of a good guide?

His old guard army was brown and dusty coloured, rag tag and made up of cadians, catachans, tallarns and even some necromunda figures mixed in. They were recruited from a mining world. These guys are new, since he started working at GW, and I have not actually faced them yet.
The guy with the white stripe down his helmet is a conscript. It's a little tough to make out in the photos but the conscript's armour is much more polished, whereas the regular guardsmen have dust and battle damage on them.
My GF has been visiting this past week. She's become a much better painter than I am, so I put her to work painting my guys, as I am slow as anything.
A couple of orks she's almost finished:
She has a Tau army of her own that is very nearly completely painted. This Devilfish still needs some parts finishing off but it shows the colour scheme:
As if Orks and Tau were not enough she also took a fancy to my eldar:
Ok, that's enough of other people's work, now for some of my guys.
I've posted some of my Slaanesh warband before, but none of my terminators. Which is a shame as they're my favourite figures:
He's only been primered, so it's hard to get a photo that shows any details, but here we go. This is my converted big mek with KFF and burna. He's a salvaged conversion I did years ago. I found him, rebased him, stripped off a lot of the rubbish. New head and arms, and a KFF built from the zapp gun in the battlewagon kit.
Better pictures once he gets some colour.
WIP shot of my warboss, the infamous Admiral Deadeye. Deadeye's had about 3 different figures over the years (he started off as the nob of my gorkamorka gang), this is the one i'm most happy with though!
Finally, what's a warboss without an attack squig? And what's a pirate without a hat? The answer is nothing of course, and so I slapped some greenstuff on this guy:
Just wanted some quick input before I prime him, Does the gun look killy enough to be a KMB?

This is a good idea, I'll add some stray wires today while I do the riveting.
Finished up the first Kan, he's ready for paint now.
And I got all the bitz together and got started on the second Kan.
(I hope 700px wide images are ok)

I'm going to try green stuffing where I want the snow, painting it white, and PVA gluing the powder on for the texture. Like this:
That should give me the height I want without the toxic waste effect, right?
Speaking of which, I just finished my first batch of Khorne Berzerkers and their Rhino transport today. If I can get my hands on a camera I will post picks tomorrow.
Also, one more thing: I was going to get some green stuff online, but it turns out that my local game store started stocking this Reaper modeling putty. As far as I can tell its the exact same thing (two strips, one blue and one yellow), though I have never used Green Stuff and really have no idea if there would be any difference from using this stuff and using the "official" stuff?
as for the putty, green stuff is just kneadatite epoxy, isn't it? GW just brands there's.
I had a friend tell me you should mix it with PVA into a wet paste, then put it on the base, though admittedly, I have not tried it out since he told me that.
He's portrayed as this sort of jovial, jolly old guy who thinks that rotting apocolyptic plague is funny as hell... So basically he's a big ole fat bastard who thinks giving you a scorching case of the herp is a big laugh." ---Erandus

Another thing I've been working on in this classic wolf guard terminator... The classic metal terminators are pretty dull and drab to pose, and I was kind of miffed that I bought it. I wanted to learn how to sculpt a bit, and also salvage the purchase. Since the classics constantly want to lean forwards on their default bases, so I thought why not run with it?
First thing i did was make some bigger 'bionic' arms to add some 'rawr, gunna tear u apart!' I also started adding to the fur in the back to imply forward momentum.
I'm not sure about it, and I'm sorta of thinking of turfing it. Bolter arm needs work, and I need to add a lot more fur. Good learning exercise, regardless.
LOL...I was thinking the same thing.
PINK TANK OF DEATH!!!
I am loving the Space Wolf terminator, you can't tell the arm is long on the front shot. The fur looks lovely though.
that's intentional.
maybe not for everyone, but one of the things I actually like on the model.
the other arm dying may be for the best. I'm just going to put a regular sized arm holding a storm bolter instead.
I simply love this... thing.
Wonderful choice of color, such a contrast between fluffy and horrible.
Nice use of the violet to break up the color.
Yeah, just tried that last night and got similar results. I did a second pass where I spread a little bit of glue over top the 'icing' and dipped the mini into the snow bowl. got the nice fuzzy texture over top.
I'm going to try my green stuff way and see what I like better - I didn't really enjoy the experience of making the icing.
My frustration with playing against eldar in DOW2 was my inspiration on this model. I gouged out all the soul stones and ran wires into each hole. Added a little orky powersupply (from the plastic mek KMB) and I have my second KMB for my kans!
