That's the point of matte varnish. You need to pick up a pot of clear gloss. You apply that to things that are supposed to be shiny after you're done with the matte coating.
Also, does anyone else here use Krylon Matte sealant? I ran out of the stuff I brought back from Japan, and switched to the much cheaper Krylon. However, models that I sprayed several days ago are still tacky to the touch. I looked closely, and when my fingers stick I'm not leaving finger prints or anything, but if I hold a model longer than a few seconds, my skin tries to stick to it.
I've got two citadel cases, but I think they are overpriced - I've heard good things about the sabol army transport but have no personal experience of them
For carrying cases, you have a lot of options depending on how much money you have to spend and how elegant you want to be.
Sabol is good stuff but a little pricey. I have their Army Transport which fits about 2K points of models as well as gaming supplies. Their website is: http://www.saboldesigns.net/home.html
I've also made cases from 2" and 3" ring binders, cardboard, glue and foam from a craft store that can fit some vehicles and guys. They aren't elegant and took a little time, but they are cheap and easy to haul around.
I've seen some people use those collapsible fabic coolers as cases (which the Sabol cases look like) and they put a bunch of foam in it for the models.
The sabol foam trays are bare none the best thing out there. The bags are decent, but it's just as easy to buy the trays, and then put them into whatever container you want to use.
Washing doesn't necessarily make your stuff shiny, glazing does.
typically a wash is when you take watered down paints or inks or the new GW line of washes and you generally put it over the whole model, or part of the model with the intention of the watered down pigments pooling in the recesses and staying off of the raised parts of the model. Basically a wash is most often used to create shading on your model. But some people also use washes in layers exclusively instead of painting.
I've never glazed anything, but I think it's just to make the glazed parts of your model shiny rather than matte. One thing to note, however, washes with ink tend to make your models appear glazed and shiny.
Ahh I see. I was reading an article in that how to paint citadel book and it mentioned glazing something with the new washes, and I was all, "hold up, what's the difference there?"
More finished work, Biel Tan Fire Prism, wish I had taken a good shot of the base, I liked the grass rock combination I did, nothing special but it came out well. This was really my first shot at blending paint transitioning one shade to another without drybrushing, it came out ok I guess.

If you're gonna punch someone in the face, aim for the back of the head.
You can over-wash? I pretty much load up the biggest brush i have, slap it into recesses, then load it up again. I'd actually considered* just dipping those Ultramarines into the the wash, then using an airbrush to blow it off the raised areas.

Well, it all depends how you do it. Large, smooth area's can get big streaks and splotches from washes if you use too much, hence why I use a small amount on them just to give them a small bit of shading and color difference. For example, the arms on this guy came out pretty well, but the legs just look like he just stepped out of water or something. And his legs are made out of paint.
I'm horribly at analogies. Mind posting pictures of your guys, to get an idea of how yours look in comparison?
Haha brilliant. I imagine converting all these comedic deaths is pretty great fun.
Horseraddish : The tank could use something to break up all that green. Like thorns or insignia. Eldar tanks are huge canvases for awesome, take advantage of it!

I had every intention of doing thorns on it, thats actually what made up my mind to do it a Beil tan, I decided on it and I wanted to but my free hand is shit, this one kinda turned into a project of "well can I do blending worth a fuckle?" I'll come back to it after the next piece or two and hopefully have worked up the cohones to do the thorns properly.

Alright, heres my most recent guy. I literally douse that bad boy in as much wash as i can get on the brush. I aim for recesses first, then spread over teh flat areas.
The pic doesn't show too well, as pictures have a habit of doing. Bext place to see is on the feet between the shoe and leg armour, then on the arse plates, and the backpack.

DampCat: thats very nice and crisp. You paint with awesome precision. Only thing I can come up with is that you could maybe add some more distinct highlights to the edges of the armour. Other than that it looks awesome.
Yeah i suck at highlights, i'm not even sure how you do them. I'm going to pop down to a couple of late nights at the local GW and get soem help i think. Thanks though! makes me feel better about my work! Gonna go over the blacks on the backs of the knees and stuff, get rid of the blue overflow.
DampCat: Highlights are quite easy and fast if you drybrush. You can also carefully paint the highlights with a fine detail brush and watered down paint. Whatever suits you best, since both methods work well. I used to drybrush my highlights, but now I prefer to paint them (except for larger models, which would take too long to paint).

Another one is Figures in Comfort: http://www.figuresincomfort.net/ I don't know much about them.

This here. I have a Vallejo Medium Glaze that's really good. Makes the paint take forever to dry out on the palette too.

How you going to base them?

well I just ordered some "Dirt Flock Foundation"
and what colors are those? not all my paints are games workshop paints...
They're both Games Workshop Washes. Basically, a brown or dark wash would work really well on those.

A green wash over the skin couldn't hurt, but I wouldn't say it needs it per say.

I will definately be making my own, because that's easy and cooler.

By the way, dude looks damn good in general, A++ would view again.
