A friends computer is saying that the login password is wrong when shes sure its right. I know there is a way to reset a windows 2000 login password but i cant remember what it is since i haven't used 2000 in a long time. Can anyone point me in the right direction to figuring this out?
If you go to school, take it in and the IT people should have an admin disc that's hard to get ahold of that does things like this. I forget the name of the tool. They charged me $15 when I had to do it (got shithoused drunk and then changed my password to fool my roommate, who had absolutely no intention of coming within 20 ft of my computer)
I use ophcrack, you download a free iso image that you then burn to a disk. Just start the computer up with the disk in the drive and make sure it boots from the disk, then it will grab you password for you. I used it all the time when I used to work

I forget what works and what doesn't since I haven't used Windows in a bit, but that should help.
EBCD will do exactly this, from a LiveCD.
