Okay, so I'm trying to remember this book that I read when I was in sixth grade (2001-ish).
I really do apologize for the lack of detail, but I hope one of you will recognize what I am describing. Oh, and the book is almost definitely science fiction.
Plot: A group of people that are renegades. They are trying to bring something down, I think. The group picks up a boy for some reason, and about halfway through, the boy (a teenager i think) becomes intimate with one of the other members of the group. They are fooling around in bed, but they specifically don't have sex because she can't afford to get pregnant (she has to be able to fight).
Sorry, but thats all I remember. And the only solid thing that I remember from that is the whole not having sex thing but still fooling around.
Thanks.
P.S. Yeah, I'm 99% sure it is science fiction and set in the near future.
Socialism is the concrete foundation of America. Capitalism is the flimsy tin shack that sits upon it.
Do you remember if it was "aimed at children" or if it was a regular science fiction book? I'll try to ask my boyfriend, he'd be the kind of person remembering nonsense details. and he reads lots of science fiction. Do you by any chance remember what was on the cover? or not at all?

I'm pretty sure it was aimed at children, or young teens.
The best book I can compare it to is Animorphs (not plot-wise, but relating to size of book and difficulty level).
