Jump attack is high charge, right? I didn't use charge on my first play-through, because I never needed to (and it sucks battery like a MOTHER) but now I'm grinding for the infinite battery.
I think he's referring to the skill you get from Lovikov or whatever his name is.

Yeah, the shake the nunchuck ability. Knocks everyone down, and can't be blocked.

I absolutely love that move. Oh, you're going to rush me mister 'oh look I'm so bad ass I've got a beam saber too'?
Jump --> whack in face ---> stab in head as you twitch on the ground.
I don't really remember how it works but when you know what you're doing you can kill a ton of enemies with it. Something like, Travis swipes the sword for the death blow, and the sword pays no attention to the dimension of depth, so it kills everyone behind the guy you swung at too.
i think the final sword is better for one on one, but the five blader is better for crowds. the final's sword is really cool, but it is not good for crowds. man that robo-tiger roar is so damn awesome though
thats what i was thinking.
grinding outside lokilov bar showed me that the final sword doesnt insta-kill everybody, its just a really strong attack and knocks tons of people to the ground. so you basically have to walk around a field of bodies, tapping A and poking people to death
One thing always bugged me about the ending of the game, both the real and the fake one, in light of some revelations that happen towards the end.
So, if there was no UAA, and the whole thing was a con by Sylvia to either scam him for money or prep him for his fight with Jeanne, depending on who you believe, then why is he still under attack by assassins at the end of the game? And in the real ending, how come there's "no way out?"
The whole thing being a sham explains why no one ever came after him between missions, despite Sylvia said they would, but then why is he still in danger at the end?

I always figured that there was no "real" UAA, but Sylvia basically scammed enough people that she had a bracket type thing going on which basically made it real.
Maybe her scam took on a life of its own or something.
She roped a lot of people with a lot of henchmen/goons into it, and word of the UAA probably spread somehow, so there might be people not in on the scam really wanting to be number 1.

Yeah, that's really the kicker of the story.
The UAA doesn't really exist, but due to the ever expanding nature of Sylvia's scam, the lie becomes reality. After the reveal, you take what Sylvia's mother said on face value, but at the end when you look back and try to piece the mess together, it turns out that the story isn't quite so straightforward.

What I think is really fantastic is
that Travis realizes it's a scam and a trap during the Rank 10 match. "Can't find the exit. Can't find the exit. Can't find the exit."
I absolutely loved that monologue. Made me wish I could just pause the fight and listen to it. Anyone know where I can find a vid of it without making a new game and running around the whole fight? I tried looking but couldn't get anything.

That's EXACTLY what I meant, same mission and all. Not enough damage. The fiver just slaughters everyone, but is less fun for boss fights. I think I'm going to switch to the fiver for grinding and the final for rank missions.

This count... I feel as if I'm looking at my future self. Mega bucks,
big ass house, fast cars... Dining in style with a world class chef and
a trusty nutritionist counting every calorie. A team of hot yoga
instructors to keep me in shape. Nurses to attend to my body... Maids
and loyal servants at my beck and call. On the weekends, tanned babes
knocking on my door every two hours. Every day full of excitement and
luxury. That'd be the life. Everything in its right place. It's the
perfect life. It's the life for winners. That'll be my life! I thirst
for selflessness. Hypocrites lusting for their own desires get killed
by young rookies like me. This is how it goes down. And for the old
killers? They'll croak anyway. I guess you can call this a comedy. I
realize there's really nothing here for me. But what else can I do but
keep going? Maybe I should have been a little more careful before I
jumped in. Gotta find the exit. Gotta find that exit to Paradise. But,
I can't see it. Can't see anything. There's this sense of doom running
down my spine, like it's... Like it's trying to suck the life out of
me. I need to get rid of it before I bail. Something deeper... Deeper
than my instincts is taunting me. Can't find the exit. Can't find the
exit. Can't find the exit. Can't find the exit. Can't find the exit.
I don't think he was aware it was a scam then, the monologue was to expose how he was scared shitless that he was going to die during that fight, since he was still green and not used to it yet.
The monologue didn't come from the remote, did it? If you have the remote muted I think it just plays the stuff that would have come out of it on the TV instead, so you didn't miss anything. I didn't want to waste battery life on it.

I'm pretty sure I missed two of the phone calls because someone who wasn't me muted my wii remote sometime between plays.
re: the speech (real spoilers homeslices)
That opening speech though is definitely a direct reference to the ending dialogue; "I want to bail, but where the hell's the exit?"

Damn it I fucking just beat the game and chose the 'fake' ending (It looked like I couldn't select 'Real' ending for some reason) and saved over my file not knowing I would have to start over.
Bah. I'm sorry Suda that still counts as a dick-move.
Still game is very awesome, but the ending felt very underwhelming for obvious reasons. :P

I dunno it seems like it would be pretty obvious not to save the file titled "CLEAR DATA" over your main save (but apparently it's not).
Your Real Ending would've been greyed out if you didn't have the Tsubaki-III yet.
I could have sworn the phone messages would play on the TV. Or are we talking about some different phone messages than the ones Travis gets from Sylvia?

No. The ones travis gets from Olivia before the boss fights.
The messages that 5 assassinations into the game, I had never heard. I got my Wii back from Nintendo repairs recently, I think I need to start the game from the beginning.

I played the game yesterday and in the in game options there's an option to mute the Wii remote speaker and it says it'll play sounds through the TV if you do so. However if you just turn the volume all the way down in the home menu, then it probably won't.
In regards to the real and fake ending, I thought it would have been funnier if you hadn't been given the option of choosing between the two. Rather, I think it would have been hilarious if there was a well-publicized "secret" ending to the game that required some extra work to get. For instance, maybe you had to beat Rank 1 with your original sword, or, at the very least, not one of the last two swords.
People would assume that the secret ending would expand on some of the ambiguities in the default ending, work incredibly hard to get it, and then be massively disappointed. Hilarious!

I am seriously considering going as Travis. Need to figure this shit up soon.
Hey, I have a blog! (Actually being updated again!)
3DS: 0860-3240-2604
THAT!
Path of men is not path of beasts.
You know?
You know?
Your edge can be
poison or cure.
To be learned is
the path,
and to be ignorant is
also the path.
Your path, your path is
THAT.
A path that no one,
nothing can pass.
Yet the path reach on.
Devotion is only given
to those who perfect
single thing.
Reward, then!
No reward those who
do not perfect.
Does a reward or just
evil lie down
your path?
Fight until you die,
Travis.
