Oh. Well, you have a female avatar now, and so was your last one. I was confused.

And I don't try to front on you. I'm just maintaining my rep, yo - you got the beef. Dawg.

And just to keep things on topic, I just ordered these (the big ones):

Yeah, that was Mighty Man from Savage Dragon. It's was Dragon's nurse, Annie. He was basically Shazam in the Marvel universe, but when the "Billy Batson" character got old and was dying, he thought he was passing his powers onto his grandson, but hit the nurse instead. So now whenever she touches her wrists together, she turns into a blonde, Superman/Captain Marvel character. Well, she did, but she's dead now.

The entire cast of Youngblood has changed genders twice, too.

Wow, I know way too much about way too many crappy comics.

In TRU's weekly ad they have all Marvel 3.75" figures on sale for 2 for $10. Any recommendations? Pretty sure this includes Marvel Universe, Wolverine Origins, Wolverine & the X-Men and Iron Man Adventures.

I agree! Because he's the one 3.75" figure I've already bought. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Some of the ones I was considering were Iron Fist, Iron Man, the new Wolverine Origins Colossus, and probably others but I forget.

Not if the last couple weeks of searching have been any indicator. Granted, there are more stores to check, but as it is now, I'm directing more and more glances at my credit card.

I'm saying: is anyone familiar enough with the distribution of that particular toy to hazard a guess? Did you only ever see one at a local store and then never again, sort of thing? I've been checking message boards online and have generally found people of the opinion that it would sell out quickly, or people saying they can't find it and assuming it sold out quickly or had a very low run to begin with.

Oh hey, I saw one of those Snake Eye figures today at a Wal Mart. No idea if they're rare or anything, but I did remember you talking about them.

Welp, I ended up deciding I really wanted the Iron Fist MU figure. Unfortunately, neither the TRU nor the two Wal Marts I went to today (they'll price match stuff like that) had any, even though I saw some there at the one Wal Mart on Sunday. Oh well. So I just didn't bother to get any.

I did pick up a Marvel Legends Ronin/Skrullektra 2-pack on clearance at a TJ Maxx for $7. It would have nice for the $13 it was originally at TJ Maxx, but at $7 it's a steal.

The distribution of the wave that Snake Eyes with the trenchcoat is in has been really odd. I got two of him the day the figures released, but have only seen him a handful of times since. If you happen across one with the black Timber, grab it, as every shipment after the initial wave has had a grey one.

$250. Actual retail is $199 or so, but shipping from Hong Kong is a son of a bitch.

Also, the overcoat has a wire in it, so with a little posing and messing around with it, I'm sure it'll look fine, evidenced by these in-hand pictures.

I don't expect to find one, but I will. (I already have the gray one from another Snake-Eyes.)

If all else fails, I suppose I could just buy straight from Hasbro. I really don't want to get in the habit of internet buying for something that's supposed to be available where I am, though--I'd never leave the house but for work.

That is pretty bitching. The legs look kind of scrawny, in a not stylized but just kind of scrawny way though. Snake Eyes is much cooler as a mute commando with ninja training, compared to being a ninja who jumps off of dudes heads and carries an Uzi even though he can catch bullets and throw back down the gun barrel, making the gun explode thereby killing the dude and two of his friends while braiding a garrote out of a yeti's beard hair, while tying cherry stems into knots with his tongue and rolling a joint one handed.

1st, I was given Voyager Blackout and Ratchet from the first Transformers. SO excited, because I was this close to talking myself into getting Grindor and miserably accepting the fact. Haha, FUCK YOU Grindor. Also given Unleashed Bumblebee

Now our local Grocery Outlet has a couple Halo 3 figs I'm contemplating, at least if they're still there on Monday (pay day). I know there's a Master Chief, Brute Chieftan, and a red-armored Elite. Already got a Jackal. I don't even really like Halo other than occasional co-op playing with friends, but the figures really look nice.

Yeah, it's so much better than I even anticipated from the pictures Hot Toys showed of it pre-release. I can honestly say it's the best action figure I've ever owned, it's amazing. The tailoring on the outfit alone makes the previous release look amateurish.

    A mixed day for me.

Still no sign of Paris Pursuit Snake-Eyes. Decided to make it a Bad Guys Day and picked up Legacy Collection Darth Maul, RotF Ejector, and RoC Elite-Viper.

First, the bad. If I'd known Maul was a mold from the days when Star Wars action figures were really really bad, I wouldn't have gotten him. I'll have to start researching SW toys as well as I do my TF and GI Joe ones if I'm going to keep getting them, but seriously: his elbows don't bend. Seriously?

The Elite-Viper has two MP-5s. Two. In case one wasn't enough, I guess? And an axe, because he's also a volunteer firefighter, maybe? (Hey, the missile in the ridiculauncher is blue. It might be water.) Unlike the Neo-Viper, he can't carry all his gear at once, because the pack doesn't have spots for the MP-5s. IT does have a pistol and a neat hip holster, though. Overall, quite good.

Ejector is the most adorable kitchen appliance ever. And one brave little toaster.

Picked up RoC Arctic Assault Snake-Eyes today. For a Arctic Action figure he's pretty cool, and it makes sense story-wise, because they, y'know, go to the Arctic. (I haven't seen the movie and I don't plan to, so I don't know if SE actually gets dressed for the occasion.) About my only real complaint is that they kept his mask black, which really makes no sense for a ninja in the artic to dress in winter camo head to foot and then give him a jet black mask. And making the visor white does not, in fact, help. That said, it's the removable visor common on SE figures these days, with the unpainted dark eyes of the void underneath.

The clothes are nicely molded with a bland but somewhat realistic snow camo pattern. You can remove the outer coat, although due to him still having the "jacket arms" and the camo snowpants it makes him look like he's dressing up like MC Hammer...badly. He also has a sash that goes over the coat and seems quite purposeless--even the "fastener" molded into its appearance is just there for decoration, and you have to lift it over his head and one arm to get it on or off, and it must be removed to take the coat off--except to make putting on the backpack (see below) more difficult. However, even with the coat on, it doesn't go down his legs like Storm Shadow, or even like Paris Pursuit Snake-Eyes (which I understand is more poseable than Storm Shadow despite having a longer coat, and which I still haven't found and will probably be ordering online), so his poseability is virtually unaffected. The hood on the coat can't go down, of course, being molded plastic, not cloth. He has the standard Joe articulation; the parachute pants, however, restrict vertical motion in his feet and it's difficult to move the head when he has the coat on. His mask does not possess the hated movie-mouth--in fact, it has the "wrapping" visible on the package art molded in. Spiffing.

There's very little weaponry--just a sword with the Arashikage marks and a 9mm-sidearm-style pistol--though his ice-climbing piton, even if it is more a tool than a weapon, would be vicious in a fight. You could easily implant that in a skull, and I don't doubt he would. And has. No retarded mega-cannon, either--he comes with a big bulky backpack that actually has two hooks like proper climbing gear, even if they are oversized hooks. The hooks themselves are connected to a single line running through the backpack, with one coming out the top and one out the bottom--again, somewhat like real climbing gear, with one in theory working as an anchor and one used to climb up to, and then repeat, leapfrogging the hooks. Also, the pack doesn't just peg on through the back, but is one of those that wraps around the front and is fastened on (the coat, naturally, has a hole in the back to allow the peg to go through, but as mentioned it becomes trickier with the sash). No holster for the pistol, though there's a sort-of scabbard on the climbing pack for his sword. He has a hard time holding the sword one-handed--the hilt is almost too slender. (Though the sword itself is different, this plus the head makes me think that parts of this particular mold were based off the Snake-Eyes from the 5-pack with Lady Jaye, Shipwreck, Duke, and Hawk. I could easily be wrong, though. It might just be a retooled movie head.) Weirdly, because the hilt widens slightly to form a pommel, he can hold it all right--if he does so at the base. Despite the good articulation and how the coat doesn't interfere, though, with the coat on it's difficult for both hands to come in far enough to hold the sword steady. On the other, ahem, hand, they seem made to hold the pistol--it's easily got the best grip of the small arsenal. The odd gear out is the piton, which can not be steadily held with any part of the designated handle, or even with both hands, as it's too slim for his grip. I have to slide it down or up a bit so that the "crossguard" or "pommel" dig into his hand to get a real steady grip, which of course stretches it out, and isn't really that steady at all... If you just want to pose him and don't jostle him much, he can hold it around the middle, but of course that doesn't look right. Ah, well. In the end, he can wear and/or carry all his gear at once, which is something only about one in five GI Joe figures ever made, if that, can do.

All in all, not too bad. Noticeably different from my other SEs. Plus the climbing pack is black, not white, so it's not exclusively cold-weather gear; it could be used with another character to just foIf I had a digital camera and time, this would be so much easier. And more interesting. But probably not doable at work like this one.
