Huh, they're copying DCUC/Mattel nerd rage posts now. Not surprising, since there are so many to choose from on pretty much every forum in existence.

For me, today's theme seems to be "Fire and Water".
Got the Human Torch/Transformers Crossover--not bad, though the flaming head looks a bit too much like a robot with hair for my liking. Especially with the sort-of headband piece. The jet mode is fuckin' sexy, though, and the transformation's solid, if heavily cribbed from the original Iron Man/War Machine. Then again, if you're want a jetformer without excessive amounts of kibble, that's one way to do it.
I also got the Scuba Clonetrooper and the RoC Eel. They're both very good. I'm a little disappointed with the Eel, because it's clear--both from the placement of the handles and the foldout wings--they wanted the Eel to be able to ride his gigantic missile launcher (er...) sort of like an underwater jetski, or whatever they call those things, but he's not flexible enough to make it work. He more than makes up for it with his weapon selection, though--dart pistol, knife, harpoon gun, and torpedo launcher. And his feet have holes which fit into either the pegs on his flippers or his stand, and the flippers have holes that fit onto the pegs on the stand.
The Scubatrooper is also a good figure. About the only flaw, if it could be called that, is that the gun he has doesn't look particularly special or suited than underwater fighting, just bigger than average. Then again, IIRC Star Wars blasters work fine underwater, so just having a relatively unique weapon is cool. I like the designs on the side of his backpack's turbines, kind of like nose art on fighters.

WHOO! Found Paris Pursuit Snake-Eyes. With the black wolf. GI Joe must not sell too well in my area for them to be only be bringing out their initial run (reports I've seen say that the black wolf only came with the first wave or two of that figure). Or maybe they were waiting until they sold out of generic Snake-Eyes, because I saw that Toys 'R' Us's first Arctic Assault Snake-Eyes there today, too.
Also picked up Desert Ambush Scarlett as I heard it was the good Scarlett figure from the RoC run, it was the only one I'd seen in two weeks, and I wanted a Scarlett.
I saw the Marvel Legends 2 pack Ultimate Nick Fury and Captain America in Wal Mart before, but didn't really want to buy it at regular price. Cue TJ Maxx, which got some more 2 packs in, so I got that one now for only $13. So now I have a Samuel L. Jackson action figure.
I also got a GI Joe MASS Device #2 set for only $7, even though I don't collect GI Joes at all. I'll figure out something to do with it.
Oh, and a Tiger Woods figure for my friend for Christmas.
So I was on Dustin Nguyen's Deviant Art page today, clicking around to other users and such, and I came upon this resin mold by tdm-studios that I thought you guys might like to see. The concept is essentially, "What would a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle look like if the live-action movies had taken a more realistic route?"
Today we bring you another installment of "transforming robot that isn't quite Transformers but is still pretty closely connected to them" theater. This time with less heads up asses.
This time we're taking a look at Masterpiece Exkizer. Exkizer was the first in the Brave anime series, made by Takara right after Transformers Victory, although not having any connections to Transforming except for having transforming robots.
So far Exkizer is the only Brave robot to get the Masterpiece treatment from Takara, mirroring the MP Transformers they have made and are still making. But unlike the MP TFs, Exkizer was never released in the US for obvious reasons. Well, it's not technically the only Brave robot since Dragon Kizer, the robot that Exkizer combines with, was also released, but I don't have that...yet.
Here we have the regular Exkizer figure at about 3-1/2" tall. He transforms into a futuristic looking car. His lower legs are made of die cast metal, allowing for some very nice poseability. He has a good amount of articulation for a figure his size, with a few ball joints here and there, and a swiveling head.
A stand comes with the set for more in air posing of Exkizer. He comes with two different sets of projectiles that be inserted into his wrists. He also comes with seven interchangeable hands, including closed fists, open hands, and a pointing right hand.
King Loader is Exkizer's power up armor. Here it is shown in Loader mode, a sort of rolling transport thing that be attached to Exkizer in car mode.
Insert Exkizer into the transformed King Loader armor, and you end up with King Exkizer. King Exkizer ends up having some good articulation as well, although neither his legs or arms have huge amounts of splay or reach. He doesn't have any waist rotation but his head rotates and can move up and down a bit. The lower parts of King Exkizer's legs feature a good bit of die cast metal as well, making his stand up very solidly no matter how you pose him.
The accessories for King Exkizer include a larger projectile, a small sword that can split in two and be stored in compartments on his legs, 8 total hands, and a great stonking big sword.
Altogether King Exkizer comes in a very nicely displayed package and is tons of fun to mess around with. Unfortunately it usually costs around $100 shipped to get one from an overseas retailer. Dragon Kizer generally runs even more. Fortunately I was able to get mine for about $50 on Ebay, although my set didn't include the little figure of whatever stupid dog was on the show.
I picked up one of those Retrofire Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger Megazords because of nostalgia. It's actually pretty nice, a 5" figure that some decent articulation, although it has some weird arm articulation restrictions.
I also got a Marvel Legends Mr. Fantastic/Thing pack. Mr. Fantastic is kind of terrible, from his anorexic body to his smug ass face to his loose as hell joints. The extra stretch arms that come with him would help, but there's almost no way to get him to stand up with either of them attached. Hell, he can barely stand up with normal arms. Thing is pretty nice, good and sturdy and I like his look. Not quite sure exactly what artist he's based off of though.
So, how should I paint my promo rings? Black's done, but I still dunno where to go with the indigo, orange, and yellow. I was thinking of painting the symbol on the orange and the background on the yellow black, no clue what to do for indigo. How have you assholes gone about this?

Masterpiece Optimus Prime is the sex. Now he's even bein' all badass and standing ready for action on top of his own trailer.
I picked up a DCUC Joker because it's awesome, so I figured I needed at least one Batman to go with him. I got a wave 1 version Batman online because he's got the silver age color scheme to go with the Joker.
I also got a couple Marvel Universe figures due to the 2 for $10 sale at TRU. I got Silver Surfer to go with my Galactus, and then also an Iron Fist because he's great.

Did you get the yellow chest or black chest iron fist? I didn't even realize there were two, but I bought one for my wall of fisting, then bought another for a sealed one, got home and noticed ones a variant (I think the yellow is the variant).

Black. Doesn't really matter to me which I got I suppose.
The 3-3/4" figures are all right, but I still prefer the 6" ones. Just bigger and more solid, and more there, plus better articulation for the most part.

I got Megazords. The new MMPR one and the Mystic Force Titan Megazord. Look at them!
Here are all their individual forms. The MMPR Zords are ok, like the originals there isn't much you can really do with them except play around with them. Very little articulation or anything, but they look pretty good. The Mystic Force Zords are pretty good, with some articulation here and there, especially on the Red Ranger one. I know absolutely nothing about the actual show, so keep that in mind.
I tried to kind of pair them up here. It worked well enough for most of them, the Mystic Force Zords can kind of ride the MMPR Zords for the most part, except for Green/Black. Fun.
Alternate modes, the Dino Megazord tank mode and the Titan Megazord dragon mode. The tank mode is just...kinda there. It's not exactly the best looking thing but I guess it was in the show so that's nice. The dragon mode of the Titan Megazord is pretty awesome though. it looks really good and separate from the regular Megazord, and the Red Ranger rider fits on quite well. I love the way the weapons combine and you can make a few different swords from them, such as the Red Ranger in this mode having a long hilted larger sword and whatnot.
Megazord modes and a comparison shot. The Dino Megazord looks pretty close to the original, but with better proportions and a little more costume accurate. It's doesn't have a lot of articulation but I like that second pose I put him in, it looks decently menacing. The Titan Megazord just looks really cool, despite having little useful articulation. You can mess around with its wings and bend its knees and move around its legs, but you can't really pose it that much. The Dino Megazord is a bit taller overall but the Titan Megazord has a lot more mass overall.
There were two things I don't regret buying at all, although from looking through all the other Megazords, these are the only ones currently out that I am probably going to get, unless I'm convinced somehow that others don't look as blocky and crappy as I think they do.
And then he became the White Ranger and it was like whoa and Jason didn't really need to exist anymore

Where'd you pick up the classic Megazord and how much (will it rape my wallet?)
E: Also, I picked up Classics Onslaught at Wal-Mart for $11. Which I'm exceedingly happy with. Detail, articulation, size.
Borrowed accessories :winky:
Sorry, shitty cell pic.
I moved him and Animated Megatron (because they're pretty much the same size) from my desk with all the other Transformers to a bookshelf across the room. They're fist-bumping. Because they can.

They're amazing. All the more so when you look at just how far Hot Toys has come since their previous Joker figure last year.
Here's my latest: Hot Toys' Predator. Scored him for $120 at my comic shop thanks to a Halloween sale they were putting on.
