Are you really one of the people who leaves their toys in the box?

Ain't nothing wrong with that, so long as you ain't criticizing other people for doing the opposite.

I would say there is something wrong with that. If you are going to buy a toy and not open it, the least you can do is give it to toys for tots.

I didn't think that i'd give off that impression, what with not noticing the crappy state of the box until *after* buying it. :)

I open the *hell* out of things, with only a few exceptions. And believe me, the shit i leave carded is most certainly not due to value. Case in point, i'm working on a carded set of the 90's Fantastic Four line, and i have a still-carded Exploding Ghost Rider figure i got out of a KB clearance bin for 38 cents like nine years ago. I also treasure my carded Bob the Goon figure from the '89 Batman movie.

I was just gonna stick these guys to the wall with some other Batman stuff i've got up, because my DC shelves are getting pretty low on space.

But upon noticing a figure that was likely going to fall of the card anyway, i had no hesitation in opening all three.

You're operating under the notion that a figure's sole value is in its ability to be used as a plaything, and that's not the case. They also have value as collectibles and display items.

But if it's in the box it looks ridiculous! I have a few figures, Lobster Johnson and Comic Hellboy are the only ones I have out. I want to get more of Mezco's Hellboy Comic line, but they cancelled it without making Abe, so I'm not really sure if it is worth it.

Depends on the toy. Marvel Legends carded? Yeah, worst thing ever. Looks like a trainwreck victim encased in a bubble. But the TDK Movie Masters figures had pretty classy packaging and it's not like they're poseable anyway. But anyway, as my sadly botp'd reply stated...not much for leaving things in the box myself. But i could see how people might.

Mezco made an Abe for SDCC this year ...
Speaking of Hellboy, Sideshow's got the preorders up for the HT figures now:

    Abe
    Hellboy

    So fucking ordered.

Man, No where in Anchorage has had the marvel mighty muggs (walmart only caries the star wars and indiana jones currently) but our brand new target has some... but just 3 different ones. I picked up hulk, wolverine and cap... but I was so dissapointed that there was no iron man.

I just picked up the new Vision Mighty Muggs figure. He is definitely one of the best, in my opinion. The paint job just looks great.

They also had Ultimate Captain America, but i passed on him. I've been 100%-ing this line so far, but man...$11 is kind of a lot to endorse yet another character repeat this early in the line.

Also picked up ten more old ToyBiz Marvel figures, for $2 a pop. The highlight of which being the cartoon version of Morph, with all 4 of his interchangeable heads.

Saw another Ultimate Cap/Fury pack today, but had to pass (again!) because of Cap's horrible teeth paint-job.

Also- Has anyone seen a NON-shitty TDK MM Joker since the first release? I need to replace mine because his neck is broken.

Can someone explain the appeal of the Mighty Muggs to me? Are they just neat desktop statues, are they bobble heads, are they soft with poseable "skeletons"?

The first one I guess, they aren't bobble heads and aren't particularly poseable at all (just swivel for arms and head at the joins). They do come with some neat accessories though, like Silver Surfers board or Thor's Hammer.

I just think they look cute, and I like having them on the shelves that hold my TPB collection.

I've got the voodoo-guy from Temple of Doom (Mola Romm?) and Dr. Doom on my TV stand. Doom looks badass holding animated-Grimlock's sword. I just think they look neat, but I won't be getting too many more because of how big they are.

The Lando is definately the best of the star wars ones.

I havn't bought an action figure in ages, but I've been looking out for that capt america in iron man armor from the what if for a while, it always seems to be sold out. Also, the new marvel legends run with wwII Captain America and Bucky seem very tempting. I added those to my christmas wishlist. Heres hoping my wife stocks my stuffing with toys.

If you're a collector of good intentions instead of toys, Shocker is awesome. They're a lot like SOTA on that front.

Good toy day for me today! In flagrant violation of Mattel's company policy, i actually finished my Despero build-a-figure, after finding Ares and Wonder Woman at Target.

It was a pretty odds-defying find, beyond the obvious reasons. Neither Target in my immediate area has *ever* had any DCUC figures in stock that i can tell. Each has had two empty pegs since the launch of the line, and i routinely scan the shelf tag and get a "none in stockroom" response out of the little price-checker thing. So i finally see them at this Target, and it's JUST Batman Beyond, Ares, and Wonder Woman. I'm happy with this turn of events, but seriously who just buys Cyborg and Captain Atom and rolls out?
