So yeah, basically everyone will get one of those mounts now? I remember them having relatively high drop rates, and it will be easy to farm the early portion of TAQ.

Oh, well that's even better then. Time to hit up AQ to farm me a mount. The crystals drop randomly off any creature in there, right? And can they drop in AQ20 or is it only AQ40?
Only AQ40.

also, skinning is such bullshit at times. Far as I can tell, it's the only tradeskill (gathering or crafting) where the "colour" of the target is nigh worthless at times. I can't tell you how many "orange" mobs I skinned this weekend on my warrior that didn't give a skillup. The difficulty just seems to imply that I'll get more failed attempts, but it doesn't mean shit in regards to actually getting a skill.
I felt this way too... until I realized I maxxed my "novice" skill at 75, and was skinning like crazy wondering why I wasn't getting a skill point anymore.

My warrior went from 1 to 260 in about a day, believe me, it wasn't just the period that you hit the 75/150/etc cap. I was in Hinterlands skinning level 50 mobs around 250+ (just barely able to skin them, very much "orange") and I'd have to kill up to half a dozen to get a single point.

Skillups for Skinning seem to come appropriately quickly until you get to Outland. It's the one gathering skill that actually goes more slowly, significantly so, than it does in Azeroth. Both Herbalism and Mining fucking FLY when you get to Outland, but Skinning will keep you farming those fucking boars and felhunters for hours on end just to get a measly twenty points or so.

S'ok, that's the best I could do this early in the morning. Plus I was trying to work in a simpsons 'Escalator to nowhere' reference in there and it just wasn't happening.
So I was installing this latest patch...I had a little error pop up, 'You are running out of disk space'. So I goto check how much I have...100MB, yes, MB. Needless to say I start randomly highlighting and deleting stuff as fast as I could to save from a horrible crash. Now I am 15gigs positive and sitting on the log in screen, go me!
Well, if regular mounts are going to be usable in AQ it would make sense to turn the crystals into regular mounts, otherwise they are useless.
I imagine the droprate may get dropped down, though. Especially since they are 100% speed mounts that only require 75 riding (like the Wintersaber).
This patch also includes the "you have to 'enchant' a mount with a Riding Crop" change as well, doesn't it?
Last I'd heard, this was the case, and it baffles me. Why the hell would they have an achievement for people having 50+ mounts when most people will probably only use 2 (one epic ground, one regular/epic flier) that they can be bothered 'enchanting' with a riding crop?
It seems that a far more elegant solution would've been to give everyone a 'riding' glyph slot that could've been improved with a lesser/greater/etc glyph for riding speed, and perhaps other effects. Maybe a "major" one for speed or some other mobility improvement (limited water walking, things like that) and a "minor" one for cosmetic changes, if any?
My realm's Scarab Lord is a guy that is/was in my guild (he's stopped playing for a few months now, was a former GM), and the mount is indeed awesome.

I'd forgotten that they were useless at 71 and beyond, so I guess it's only an issue for the next month.
That said, I totally need to get a mod/macro that randomly deploys a mount, another for flying mounts, and another for novelty pets. Now that we're going to be able to have all of them 'on us' at a given time, might as well get some use out of them.
That said, I still like my glyph idea.

Fucking SHIT!!!!
2nd dibs.
I like how fast these threads are on patch day, zip 4 pages.
The patch note implies all of them will be available outside the instance now.

GAAAAAAH go to the wowhead link. I posted it for a reason.
at Blizzcon folks say mods don't break as bad as you think- any beta types confirm this, or am I in a world of vanilla ui hurt?

So wait, MH and TK did not get nerfed? o_O
Wut is at craetr?
Amazing.
I assumed it wasn't. "Amazing" was an exceedingly lame attempt to facetiously compliment your sense of humor. Ididn'tmeaniti'msorry.
With a cherry on top?
