I just think the character is stupid, but I'm apparently wrong because she's just like a character in a drinking movie. My mistake.

I really don't mind the whole over-sexualization thing. I mean, sex is everywhere, in games devs try to tone it down a bit, but it's still there, why can't we have games that go over the top for whatever the purpose is, comedy or an attempt to give erections? It's in movies, it's in comics and it's in shows, why should games be any different?

I really just feel like it's a bit insulting when devs try to cater to that crowd instead of selling their game with a solid product.

And don't get me wrong, part of my problem is that this game otherwise looks like a lot of fun. I just think the character really brings it down to an area that'd make me feel like a perverted douche for playing it.

If you hate T&A so much, here's a tip: DON'T PLAY THE GAME, DUMBASS. What's the point of coming into a thread just to bitch about a game? Go ahead and tell us if there's something you don't like, but there's no reason to start generalizing other people as '13 year old retards' because they like something that doesn't appeal to you.

That said, this game doesn't appeal to me.

It may look like DMC, but the vibe I got was Godhand. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good godhand vibe, more of like "we took the joke and ran it directly into the ground" vibe.

Except for hair dragon. That's the one area they managed to stay on target.

I was directing that not at you specifically, but someone did say something about this game being aimed at those types as if it were some sort of derogatory thing. That said, my point was that you can dislike this game without bashing others for liking it. If my post didn't pertain to you then why did you feel the need to defend yourself?

Oh, I just thought you were misunderstanding me. I said that people who buy games explicitly for the oversexualization are retards. I have no beef with you. Or anyone, really. I just had an opinion.D:

I was going to say something to that effect. The one liners come off like something right out of god hand. I actually cringed a little watching the video. I think it does a full 360 from horrible to horribly awesome and back. I don't care though I'll still likely end up getting it because it's just so absurd.

I don't give a shit about the cleavage or sexuality of the character. Hell, I'm all for boobs. Also, I think the game will be fun, and I usually enjoy tongue-in-cheek humor such as DMC. However, this looks like too much. You hit a point where you are trying so hard to be tongue-in-cheek that you come off as stupid. It's a really thin line and so far, based on a really short trailer, they seem to have crossed that line. Guns in her high heels is just dumb. We'll see though. I'm sure I will play it and love it as long as it controls good.

    errr sorry, you lost me.

In case it's relevant to your response ~ My point was that just because certain elements (for the purposes of this statement, let's assume distasteful levels of over-sexualization and horrible dialogue are present in the game in a way that we can agree is negative) are contained in some percentage of popular culture does not justify their presence elsewhere. Demand better.

TLDR: Don't watch shitty movies, let alone cite them to justify shitty video games.

I know a tv spot =/= in game video, but given their track record so far I hope these guys know what they're doing. Even if the batshit craziness of the story/characters turns people off, I have hopes that there will be enough excellent and over the top combat to keep people coming back.

Finally someone found a use for a character's feet.

I don't know what the hell you people are moaning about, she has twice as many hand guns as she has hands. This is a glorious thing.

It occurs to me that I'm an example of the demographic they're perhaps not specifically aiming for, but will reach anyway. As soon as you add more guns and provide me with a new and interesting way to kill people, particularly people shaped like pegasi and angels, I'm sold regardless of what else you do.

Games should try harder to actually be funny instead of sad and desperate.

But, well, I guess if more games were developed by funny men instead of sad and desperate ones, well, we would have less games like Arcana Heart and more Fallout's.

Otherwise I'm a DMC fanboy, so this in my interest lists. They better pull some awesome shit to top the opening Office battle scene in DMC3, and not just slo-mo crotch shots.

Bear in mind that's the Japanese Track( English VA's are en vouge now I guess). I doubt who ever publishes it in the US it will keep it.

It'll likely stay the same for the US. That's what they did for every DMC game. It's becoming much more common to have one English voice track for the Japanese and English releases.

I think the "sex" critique is that this may be too close to "BMX XXX" territory, where they say "we skip the boobs to focus more exclusively on her hair unraveling around her crotch. Ok, we focus on the boobs, too. Oh, and we have a game in there somewhere, I think. Wait, let me check."

If I want to look at fake bodies, I'll dial up some bad porn. Or skip to good porn. If I want to play a game, I want to play a good one. If the good game in question happens to have boobs or crotches or bare male chests, great, but the game comes first.

Comparing it to DMC isn't exactly fair, because those are held up as examples of quality gameplay first, and the over-the-top in-game action is supported by over-the-top cutscenes and clothing. The games are fun, though. All we know about this is a) she's essentially naked except for her hair-clothing, and b) hair dragon. Oh, and c) heel-guns. I'm not surprised that some people are assuming the game is just a cash-in on horny male gamers, considering all we've seen is a very brief, zoomed-out action section where the main character punches something in the face a few times.

Well her guns are her hair too, right? I mean it seems more strange to think that she can make clothing and guns out of her hair but can't shoot the foot-hair-guns.
