I just happened to be reading this thread as I've started playing DMC4 and want to note that the first scene with Gloria in it there's gotta be like 4-5 boob/ass/crotch shots in the cinematic so really Bayonetta isn't that over the top compared to Devil May Cry. Watching the opening cinematics with Nero vs. Dante was completely over the top as well, so if you could handle that I'd assume Bayonetta won't be much worse.

dmc4 was not nearly as crazy as 3

nero was such a little emo kid, he even stopped dante from beating up dudes with a motorbike or playing a demonic guitar solo or putting on his coat in a REALLY EXTREME way

DMC 3 really is the best of the series, in all aspects save graphics (4). Beyond the HD face lift, the Devil Bringer made for some real eye candy.

I'm only on Mission 4 in DMC4 but I'm already loving the devil bringer's grapple move. I love sending an enemy flying only to rip them back to me to continue pummeling them. Outside of combat though the devil bringer can eat a dick, I'm already sick of grappling around those floating blue lights.

I fucking love Nero. He is my level of cheese.

Nothing like air guitaring a dying blitz as it explodes around you.

Sure maybe he's a clone of dmc1 dante or whatthefuck ever, I really don't give a shit. I'm playing dmc4 with the devil bringer bustering dudes, who gives a shit about the older version of a game.

I dunno people constrain themselves so much and jump up on down on their sense of fun for such weird reasons.

DMC3SE is hands down my favorite "stylish action" game. I would [insert ludicrous atrocity] a [bus/daycare/school/box] full of [children/babies/kittens] for a PSN/XBL re-release with the same graphics, but with 1080p/60fps/16x9.

It's just a drastically different feel, and some bloody palace tends to get me sort of back into the swing of things. DMC 4, while okay, was kinda of a dissapointment to me. Nero was alright, but he just couldn't compare to DMC3 Dante. I loved all the weapons in DMC 3, as well as his attitude.

You take things far too seriously, though it's amusing to hear tell of a person with a worse memory than my own.

360 controller makes it easier, but it wasn't that hard in 3, either. It's not like its any more contorted than anything you're expected to do in a Metal Gear game. Hold X/Square down with your thumb, but slid far enough over that you can feel the side of Y/Triangle, then roll your thumb sideways to push it. The only tricky thing is holding X/Square down and tapping B/Circle with the knuckle. It's way harder on a dual shock because the face buttons are spaced much closer together.

Well, I haven't played DMC4, but I always thought playing, say, Gunslinger in DMC3 with the default configuration was such a pain the ass. I mean, I could probably learn it, but it seems so needlessly complicated. Particularly while doing quick jump cancels.

Yes I'm very literal. I have to really think when people use sarcasm, or I'll get caught off guard.

I used to try to do that for gunslinger but when I recently back to dmc3 and used gunslinger I changed the gun button for charging the multi attack gun to (style I think) the trigger and my god the damage increase/vs the ease of use was mofucking overwhelming. I'm planning to put some time into it again over the holidays and finally beat that damn dmd chessboard with it.
