Fuck does the 360 need a decent d-pad. 2 of my most anticipated games are Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter 2: HD Remix, and I don't think I will be able to compete if I don't have a decent d-pad. I know new SFIV 6 button controllers are on the way, but is the d-pad good?
There is no way to know. If you won't play with a stick, you could look to invest into some of the older Saturn pads, but I don't know if they have > 360 converters for that.
But supposedly the SF4 pad is an imitation of the Saturn pad, so it will most likely be good. It's being designed by some big names in the industry (S-kill, Markman), despite being built by Madcatz.

I'm not sure how hardcore you're into fighters, but I bought the Xbox360 Fighting Stick EX 2 (soul calibur 4 edition!) and it works very well. I'm not super-hardcore though, just enough not to want to fuck around with the 360's horrible d-pad
Seems like a good investment now that this, SF2 HD, and SF4 are on the way.
I love this game because it has ninjas and samurais and completely worthless characters that are still super fun to play (Dan, Hayato).
I know there's a competitive game in there - but there's also a game that's almost on par with Smash Bros. for getting even non-gamers interested, simply due to the breadth and recognizability of the roster.
I love how all the Capcom characters were all engrish and all the Marvel characters had English speaking VAs.

I know I'm a little late to the party. But I would kill for Capcom vs SNK 2. That game kept me and my best friend for hours. He would alway beat me with Ryu, Shin Akuma, Iori VS my Ken, Rock, Chun-Li.
Like 99% of the time he would win, it made me so mad. But I still love that game.
Oh and that techno beat on the construct stage sounded so good.

Marvel VS Capcom 2 would be sweet, Capcom vs SNK 2 would be sweeter.
I know I'm a little late to the party. But I would kill for Capcom vs SNK 2. That game kept me and my best friend for hours. He would alway beat me with Ryu, Shin Akuma, Iori VS my Ken, Rock, Chun-Li.
Like 99% of the time he would win, it made me so mad. But I still love that game.
Oh and that techno beat on the construct stage sounded so good.

WHOA... I'm gone for the weekend to come back to this!?! MvC2 rocks! Anyone that thinks this game is nothing but button mashing is an idiot. You only button mash when you don't know what you're doing. Me and my friends still visit the local arcade to play this (even though we have it on DC.. we like to support our local arcade because there aren’t to many left)
If this comes out with online play, consider it so bought.

Anyone have any ideas what platform this is going to be a port of, or is it going to be built for XBLA? I'd really like them to keep the DC's having 3 of the same character on the same team. My triple Dan attack is unstoppable.

I just remembered, Ruby Heart does not come from any game in particular.
There were a few characters on the Capcom side that aren't from any game. But they're automatically Capcom characters because MvC2 is a Capcom game.
Sort like how Alannis Morresette's Ironic is either a song about irony with ironic examples, or an ironic song because it's about irony but doesn't contain any.

Well Ruby is supposed to be the star of MvC2. She heard about this new threat to the universe and gathered together all the heroes in her pirate ship to go face it. No idea about the cactus guy.

If you accept Rare's take on the character, yeah. Cranky Kong is supposed to be the original Donkey Kong, the same ape that battled [strike]Jumpman[/strike] Mario in the original Donkey Kong arcade game. I don't think Nintendo actually cares to make that distinction anymore, though, so DK is pretty much just DK, full-stop.
