I'm interested in seeing how you're going to adapt that to US play since I usually have very little problems handling bikes with riflemen due to the inability of bikes to fire while moving. [edit] and you added it
That said, bikes have definitely become the strat du'jour for Wher, especially in 2v2 on Wher/PE teams. Last half dozen games we've done against top 300 teams has been almost identical.
Wher player goes bike/mg/bike/mg/bike/mg while the PE player masses PGs and races towards MP44s and flame grenades. The Wher play sets up a clear line of control with the MGs and uses the bikes for heavy fire support while the PE player plays super agressive.
We've managed to beat it every time, so far, mainly by combining firepower early focusing fire near a HQ truck for reinforcement. Either that or using a sniper to clear the area with a tommy blob to focus fire on any bikes.
In the end the 2v2 game is still decided by the AC. If they don't build it, it's a game of skill. If they do build it, it's a game of luck where-in you lose unless they fuck up with the micro.
Now that I think about it it's actually been a while since I've seen a medic bunker from a top Wher/PE team. It's either the bike/mg with super agressive PGs, or an AC rush (and the Wher player might as well go eat dinner for all he contributes).
This either means the bike has been newly discovered as an ultra-early powerhouse, or people are trying to shift away from medic bunkers due to the imminent nerf. I'm leaning towards the former.
It's true. Bikes are an easily renewable source of fighting. You don't have to spend manpower on volksgrenadier squads, rather just repair a machine very expediently. However, in 1v1, medic bunker T2X is still the mainstream, simply because you don't have PGs to back you up in a dedicated bike spam.

Kinder, I don't know what sort of arcane magic you used to conjure this strat, but it works. The early game cap focus on munitions doesn't leave you starving for the damn thing in the transition from early to mid game, which is usually what happens to me when I play Wehrmacht. And like you said, the bikes are cheap and easy to maintain. I don't know why I didn't come to that conclusion before.

Just lost my lvl 10 to a t2 terror variant to kinder's strategy. I actually find it fun to play against a player with a mg-heavy start, but the vet3 flame pioneers kicked my ass. I'm not sure what to do. I was able to get map control before he maxed out support vet and got the medic bunker up and decided to go for a fast tank depot with awm...Which seemed to work ok until the kt came out.
I've been having a blast with PE on my smurf. Four'ish minute AC ends most games right there. If it doesn't the AT HT and 4 man MP44 squads followed by Marders seal the deal.
Wiping out 4/6ths of a rifleman squad in a single burst, chasing it back to base, finishing it off on the way, and killing any riflemen/engineers at the base is ridiculous. Way to go, Relic

So on account of everyone is playing Left 4 Dead and I can't afford it right now (and also I've been hankerin' for some strategy), I am trying to get back into playing Company of Heroes
The thing is I know next to nothing about strategy or build orders or anything like that, I usually just play it by ear after building a couple of engineers and a rifleman squad. I mean I've been watching those shoutcasts or whatever but while they are rather entertaining a lot of what is being said is going over my head
So if I was gonna learn a thing or two about the game I'd much rather be playing and losing to some guys who are probably cool rather than some guys who probably aren't
My RelicOnline name is Olivaw and if anyone wants to add me I will play some games with them sometime
Alternate topic: do we know anything about that new expansion other than it exists? Because there were rumors that there wasn't even going to be a new faction in it which I found immensely disappointing
Yeah they released the new trailer for it, but there aren't going to be any new factions. Just the new campaign and some new content stuff that, as far as I know, won't be put into use in Ranked play. This one is probably just a money squeeze... safe to pass up!
I either destory a person who doesn't know what they are doing, or get horribly mutilated. No middle ground .
I for the life of me can't flank MG's. I don't no why I flanked one burned it right out of the house had to retreat because of a sniper and BAM another one to take its place. Blarg
So am I right in my assessment that Relic got us all heavily involved in the beta, then washed their hands of it, are ignoring the problems (some of them critical) that remain or were created, and are delaying releasing it to the public until they can package it in with their expansion that features absolutely no new content for multiplayer - just a single player campaign?

Good job coming up with this one man.
Er, a Mexican? Sometimes the American Riflemen call out some guy named Tomas. Always weirds me out when they say it.
"Fillipio, Williams, weapons and ammo!"
Wasn't that Denicolo, or however you Americans spell that?
It'll probably still miss.
Yeah pretty much. It's definitely not Fillipio.
There she is boss.

BTW, don't start articles with a trite "Hello!" ;-)
I appreciate the congratulations though. It was quite the odd journey to success.

.. O:
RAWR.
Hopefully DoW2 picks up where CoH left off.
Campaign's actually coop if you want.
No.
Got your PM. That's some heavy shit.
Hmmm... that actually sounds fun. Not $30+ fun, though. Hopefully DoW2 will have co-op campaigns.
