I was thinking of Deus Ex as well but it's not quite old enough. However, of any old game, that's the one I'd like to see given the HD treatment most of all.
I'd love an old-school (graphics, music and all) sequel to Streets of Rage 2 and 3. The graphics and music are part of the awesomeness.
Legend of Zelda - Link to the Past in HD, retaining the overhead view and gameplay but with modern graphics, would be pretty damn sweet as well.
I would say that Defcon was a great update to "Global Thermo Nuclear War" from Wargames. I know that they are doing it, but I can't wait for the updated Tecmo Bowl. That and an updated Custer's Revenge :winky:
I'd love to see a Prince of Persia game that integrates all of the elements from the new games (well, maybe not the emo prince) into a 2D platformer resembling the original PoP.
What like Prince of Persia Sands of Time for the GBA? A 2D platformer version of Sands of Time that resembles the original POP?

Looking into that now, I'm fairly intrigued. That DS game on the previous page also looks promising.
Maybe I should come up with more ideas for games I want made so that I can have people tell me they already exist!
I would be a very happy man if Nintendo decided to Zero Mission-ify Zelda 1. Other than that, I'd rather see more new 2D LTTP-style games (or a new DS game that plays like Phantom Hourglass)
I'm thinking that Nintendo is going to hold to the concept of doing 3D zeldas on the consoles and 2D zeldas on the handhelds. Ditto for metroid.
Also, I'd say, "We want Metroid II remake!" but everyone says that every time, and there are a couple of fan projects doing just that, but none of them are "out" yet I think...
I would like to see a remake of Chakan The Forever Man. I only got to play the Game Gear version but it was one of the hardest games I ever played. I just liked the consept of the character. I heard a long time ago that a sequel was planned but it never came to be.
Anyone notice how some things (mattresses and the copy machines in Highrise) are totally impenetrable? A steel wall, yeah that makes sense, but bullets should obliterate copy machines.
I don't know about you, but I always buy a bullet proof printer. Its a lot more expensive, but I think the advantages are apparent.
I'd like to see a HD remake of Full Throttle. I'd like to see a 8/16 bit demake of Dead Rising. It doesn't have 'retro roots', but I think it'd be fun.
Slightly off-topic, but I still wish we'd get a port of the arcade version. It was gory as all hell. I saw it once in my life, at a Wal-mart in the early 90s of all places.
Edit: Jeez, did this come out before Mortal Kombat? There are dudes you kill by grabbing their dicks and punching their groin with an oversized spiked fist.

Agreed - as linear as the game was, Metroid II was easily one of my favorite Game Boy games. I'd hope for some other Game Boy titles to make it as being remade as well on top of that though:
Donkey Kong
Gargoyle's Quest
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Wario Land (SML3)
Link's Awakening
I would love to see a remake or sequel to the Ultima Underworld series.
And not so much of a retro version, but a "return to form" of the Splinter Cell series. I really like sneaking through darkly lit military bases or industrial buildings and choking people, and while Conviction looks like it'll be awesome, I don't want to play The Bourne Identity: Sam Fisher Edition.

Now I guess I have to pick Ivan Ironman Stewart\'s Super Off Road.

This is an excellent, excellent idea and I would support it with money.

Hm. If only there was someone who could start and finish coding such a thing... hm.....

I second this and Snow Bros. Two games that swallowed much of my pocket money as a kid.

Besides that, Betrayal At Krondor's a game I'd love to play through again and could really benefit from an engine overhaul.

Pokemon Safari - Sneasel, Pawniard, ????
Desert/Jungle/Urban Strike.
Upgraded graphics and such. That would be just awesome

Totally beat me to it. So, seconded, as long as it's for something I own.
This needs a new sequal or remake, I'll take either. And I want it in glorious 3d HD etc...
Pokemon Safari - Sneasel, Pawniard, ????
Wait wait wait wait wait.....Are you saying that they are doing this?
Because that would be amazing.
Monster Party.
Soup up the graphics, tweak the controls, add some difficulty, and use the original super bloody Japanese design.
