I'd like to see a nice detail shot of the head. The twisty tentacles seem a little out of place compared to the neato 3d head, maybe if you gave them some white paint or tarnish or whatever the heck you crazy metalworking kids do, also add head fins.
The squid has a bit of a blue-ish coloring to it in certain parts, and some of the metal coating on the tentacles are sort of flaking off to give it a cool texture. Ill try and get a good color picture of it when i take it into school and use their fancy lighting.
Cool. I'm better at drawing stuff I guess but I really like sculpture. Did you heat the fins to bend them or did you just bend them? Were all did you find the metal peices? DId you go looking through peoples trash or somthing?
The tentacles are extra scrap steel bar i had. The bars were clamped to a solid surface (an old fire-pit base) and then heated and bent/twisted in the style I wanted. Each tentacles took on average about 15-20 minutes to complete.
The 'eyes' are broken cones that we used at work for our tire balancers. And the 'mouth' and main body are constructed of some sort of heat shield I found on the side of the road. Overall, the thing probably weighs around 10 pounds.
Suggs93 - I used to go 'dumpster divin' but lately I stop in at the many local junk yards and pick up random metal objects. My room is filled with stuff that I want to turn into art, I have drawers, component drawers, tool boxes and closets full of stuff I pick up. I really am a packrat when it comes down to it. And it pays off, because I have almost anything I would ever need available to make art with.

I just don't post my stuff on here because no one ever gives good critiques for sculptures, or doesn't like conceptual stuff.
Mayday - I don't like the crack either, but I had to work with what I got, its all found object material.
World As Myth - Probably about 12 hours, but alot of that wasn't really quality time spent working on it, just dicking around.
Antibodies - Oxy-Acetylene torch, vice grips, and elbow grease.
Thanks for the comments guys!
