They intended to have Eli show the events in detail to the player via a sort of presentation, where he'd use a projector to show various footage and whatnot. In the end they decided it was too forced.

I think I've finally figured out how to play Bioshock, seeing as I'm now trucking around a full load of ammo for everything, a full wallet, and slaying Big Daddies for giggles because those fuckers don't stand a chance against a couple Trap Bolts, prox mines, AP ammo and a healthy dose of OH GOD BEES.

Incendiary Bolts + Lightning for crowd control work great too.
Or just electric buck.
Or some turrets to draw aggro and anti-armor rounds in the machinegun.
If you're going for the I Choose The Impossible trophy it's a whole new ballgame, though - especially with Rosies. You have to throw everything and the kitchen sink at them, and then hope you get really lucky.
They threw in an extra difficulty for the PS3 version of Bioshock that basically made big daddies super ammo sponges capable of 2 shotting you. until you get the chem thrower and trap/incendiary bolts killing them usually required all the ammo you had on you, and the slightest misstep would end you real quick.
So I just got to the point where I start tripping balls and having Plasmid issues. How close to the end am I?
Also thanks to Scrounger + Clever Inventor my ammo usage makes Rambo look like a little bitch. I regularily get "Cannot carry any more" and "Your wallet is full" - and last session I started getting "cannot carry any more" on components, so I started crafting Heat-Seeking RPGs and using them on solitary Splicers because I can.

cool shitty ending, broseidon. Final boss was a fucking pushover - oh hey, here's a bunch of explosive ammo while I'm constantly setting you on fire/electrocuting/freezing you, oh I'm out of bombs, have a full clip of antipersonnel ammo that I'm just spray-and-praying, since I've got four more, that "alternate ending" linked a few pages is epically better, and goddamn. That may well beat FO3 for shitty shit shit endings, it definitely ties it.

you can thank the suits for that whole shitty endgame
they insisted the developers ram through a "traditional" boss fight and a morality system with multiple endings, so the whole final section was done half-assed

As long as we don't have to deal with it for the sequel. I've got to imagine they've learned after the player reaction to the first one. Though leave it up to the publisher to screw up the sequel too.

I too am here to voice my disappointment in the final boss.
I actually think it's really neat that Fontaine was a total pushover. It makes sense given how he operated; he always preferred to let others do his dirty work, and he would go to great pains to never be directly involved. He's like a gun runner who has never fired a weapon before but is still an extremely crafty businessman.
When you catch up to him, he completely loses it. Splicing will make him better able to fight, so why not use all of them at once? It's like the gun runner deciding to defend himself by grabbing the biggest, scariest looking machine gun he can find and opening fire with it. The gun runner is going to break his arm, and be wildly ineffective because he doesn't know the first damn thing about properly firing a weapon.
Fontaine, despite being in control of so much Adam, doesn't know how to fight with it. He's being forced to fight you because he screwed up royally; it makes sense that you can beat him so readily. You're more or less an Adam enhanced super soldier trained and conditioned from birth to be good at killing both conventionally and with Adam.
The final boss fight is just a showcase of how far Fontaine has fallen.

No, it's not. There's nothing symbolic or significant about it, it was just a rushed job.

I never said it was symbolic.
Fontaine's complete failure is directly presented to you. Seeing a man who has never had to fight before suddenly panic and essentially overdose on Adam to try to stop you is not symbolic.
It may have been a rushed job, but that's not my reaction when I went through that section.

Don't feel bad. Nobody even told me there were ANY comics. I thought this was just a self-standing forum. :P
But you know now, and had access to said jig?

Pretty much
Shoot a trap bolt and giggle
shoot another and giggle
shoot another and giggle, repeat a few more times
Yell out "Hey fatty!" shoot the big daddy in the ass with the revolver, and watch as he falls for your clever ruse
even better, get one at the end of a long hallway, line it with trap bolts, piss off the big daddy and then turn the corner as he rushes you
odds are his dead body will coast to a halt just as it clears the hall
Or just electric buck.

I love when that happens.
I hear this a lot, and I don't think I ever used those. Yeah, I died at the hands of a lot of Big Daddies.
Not familiar with that one, is it just another name the no vita chambers on hard acheivement goes by or something?
I personaly prefer letting them slide to a halt at my feet. Stepping around to corner is tantamount to expecting your traps to fail. :P
