Am I the only one that thinks they are charging too much for that?
Nope, I dont see what everyones getting its cock in their mouth over. Doesn't contain anything particularly special, any moreso than other special editions while charging $Bank for it.

I have seen many SE/LE's come and go and that doesn't look like it's worth any more than 70-80 bucks not 100.

Probably gonna cost $180 in Australia, ftw!
Edit: I should mention I've never been a big fan of collectors editions. The prior ones I've bougtht have all ways let me down in the end and just becomes useless junk that lies around doing nothing.

I tend to agree, but I think the utility is why I think this CE actually looks cool. Awesome posters that can go up on the walls, an artbook that should be kickass if the previous one is any indication, and a record full of awesome old-timey music.

Well I dont know what standard $ prices are for games but here its about £40 and I'd expect something like this to go for £60, and that would be the higher end.

Well the game itself is 60. Then I'd put the LP + CD duo at like another 20 bucks. The artbook, if it's high quality, something that large and hardbound is probably worth another 20 bucks. Then you've got the special box which I suppose is an extra few, but doesn't matter, and 3 posters which you could say are worth like 10-15 then. So, I think it's a good deal.

That kind of music should cost virtually nothing to license and I don't think I have to tell you how much a CD costs. Of all the stuff there the book is probably the most costly but not more than £2-4 costly.

Well on average if you pre-order a game then you may get a sound track, making of DVD, poster or art book with it for free. Sometimes for 10 bucks more, that's a jump from 60 bucks being the average for a current gen console game to 70 bucks for a normal SE/LE, you'll get an SE/LE with all that and possibly a small figure or some exclusive content. This right here to me seems like they are proving slightly above and charging way beyond. So to clarify, average SE/LE's are 70 bucks, really good ones are 80, rarely they are so amazing they crack 100 (Batman, Halo 3, and Modern Warfare 2 for example), and this one is providing a little more than a 70 dollar one and charging 100.

At least its better than the original one. We still have one of those broken-armed Big Daddy's in my store. Unless you're gonna make it the bulk of the cost you should NOT include figurines.
I've started Bioshock several times but I've never made it very far. I'm going to try and remedy that over the holiday weekend, how long is the average PC play through?
If I could actually play the LP, I would be more comfortable with the CE. It would have been better if they had some fake periodicals in there or some lost Rapture footage.
So I'm really apprehensive about this sequel forcing us to play as a Big Daddy.
Won't that be limiting? Will there be no plasmids? One standard gun and a drill for the whole game?
WTF!

From what I've heard/read so far (and is probably still subject to change):
Yes you will have a Drill and a Nail Gun. You will still have Plasmids. You will be able to dual-wield Plasmids and weapons at the same time (for balance, this'll probably be limited a little, but eh, it's a nice evolution. Always wondered why I couldn't set my crossbow bolts on fire and launch them at Splicers). Apparently you'll be able to learn the shoulder charge as well that the Bouncer Big Daddy can do. This is all what I'm getting from Wikipedia, but it's cited so I'm cautiously optimistic about its truthfulness.

Eh, yes and no. I think all of the stuff that's in the special eddition is worth the $100 (I imagine the LP is to bulk of the cost). I don't personaly want anything in the special eddition except the art book. The art book isn't worth the extra $40 so I suppose I won't be getting it.

Have you read anything in the thread man? Watched the preview video or anything? We've known for ages that the big dady is the prototype big dady, and will be able to wield plasmids in addition to more varied big dady ranged weapons (esentialy a big daddy equivailant of the BioShock 1 weapons) plus a big honking drill (the drill isn't attached, in the players case, it's more like a one handed chainsaw with a drill bit ).

just watch any of the videos on gametrailers, it's all there
Its by well known artist craig mullins, down the bottom.
Ive noticed from the new footage, especially in regards to little sisters, the animations have improved 10 fold from the first game. The story is definately taking shape and im hugely excited now that its getting close to release.
So, the story of Tenenbaum and the Big Sister is no more?
We're now doing a female Andrew Ryan and the Little Sister that got away? Welp, that made the ARG pretty fucking stupid. Oops, it seems like they 'maintained' the Big Sister, it's just now there's dozens of them.
But there's still that special one, with a special story. Oh, and your character is looking for his long lost Little Sister. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm probably going to wait until I can buy BioShock 2 for cheap, but if I could I'd pay the $40 premium just for the extras.

My fucking record player's broken anyway.

Well done Bioshock Team, well done.
I haven't read that article from the last page yet since I'm at work but...huh? I'm confused.
That would probably be an improvement. The plot was nonsensical at best and actively ludicrous to the point of distraction for the most part.
Although Dr. Suchong's reaction to the explanation of the mechanics on the Vita Chambers was awesome.
Replication this and quantum entaglement that and *poof* dead man come back to life! Fucking bullshit!
