Yeah thats what I thought too but everyone loves spin on Starmie. It can get pretty bulky with Recover if it really wants to be.

Starmie has the bonus of being able to REALLY HURT something too, depending on which two moves it picks. Surf, Ice Beam, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Grass Knot... Pick two, add Rapid Spin and Recover (both levelup moves) and give it a bulkier EV spread. Preferably with some speed, so it can take out frailer threats before they get to hurt it.

Actually, Psychic's pretty good for ganking Gengar switch-ins to prevent Rapid Spins.

Also! I should be around from 10pm GMT tonight, which is 5pm EST. If Metalkids is up and we can run some calculations, want to try and BATTARU then?

I seem to remember being utterly faceraped last time we played, so... Ouch.

Alright, we should be able to have the battle then. I don't need damage calculations, anyway. They would just help.

They would either help, or make me do the D:D:D: face when I realise I have NOTHING to take Attack X from Pokémon Y if it has IVs and EVs that look like Z. :D

Like, I want to know if Meteor Mash is going to 2HKO Rhyperior, both with and without choice band on Metagross. Stuff like that.

    DAMMIT Ashton!

Why did you have to point out the Jugs/Chen rematch?

Because you just wanted me to fight Jugs, that's why.

I hate you so much right now.

    SO MUCH.

EDIT: Jugs, I should be around sometime tonight. Currently I'm in class and I've got a couple things to do this afternoon.

Though you know what I don't see very often as a spinner? Armaldo. Probably because a spinner weak to Stealth Rock kind of sucks, but hey!

I have a spinning Armaldo. Yes, it does suck and not just becuase of the SR weakness.
If he had even a few useful resistances it wouldn't be so bad.

Blue, I don't have an exact time for you but I hope to be around here for our battle later tonight. Maybe 4-5(pacific) or later?

If you can remember that fight we had before the tourney then you already have the lead in this fight. I can't remember battles even a few days ago.
Not that there have even been battles in the last few days, but you know.

I don't run into too many spinners here. Mainly because most people concede that spike teams, while perhaps strong, are extremely boring and unoriginal to play against.

I've never even heard of a spike team. Is that just a team that has someone who uses spikes? In that case my tournament team is an explosion team.

I will be around...tonight. Ok let me figure out pacific timezone... ok I'm two hours ahead. So yes I will be around during that time. All my timezone knowledge is based on how it's midnight here when the woot item goes up and I know the west coast guys have it update at a reasonable time.

I believe the common term for them is stall teams.

Regardless, Stealth Rock is worth putting on any and all teams you make as it is quick to setup and doesn't even require any stall to be worth it.

Yeah, if I was thinking right, I would have sent Apollo in first, -then- Eris. I was hoping-praying-hoping that Eris could take a hit. I had a serious Trombe weakness.

Good game, Ashton! The most terrifying of your Pokémon really did do a number on some of my star players!

Waitwaitwait. I missed the switcharound I think. I thought RMD was meant to play DX, while Jugs played the winner of Toast vs Chen? I dunno. Um.

I'm 4/2, which isn't that bad, and one of my losses was Jugs! :o I guess that RMD and Jugs are through to the finals (5 points), the winner of DX vs Chen (is that how it's working?) is in the finals, while the loser is in the 4 point playoffs, with m'self, Ink or Blue, and Munkus or Toasty? It's soooo confusing!

The switch happened to keep Chen and Jugs from playing again, which ended up pointless anyway because now Munkus and Toasty have to fight again.

You're right about the rest. The 4th player will be determined round-robin style and I'll be the tie-breaker.
