Doctor Doom / Doctor Strange: Triumph and Torment
FF #39 - "Battle of the Baxter Building"
FF #236 - "Terror in a Tiny Town"
FF #246-247 - "This Land is Mine!"
FF #257, 259-261 - maybe the greatest Dr Doom stories ever written
    X-Factor Annual #10 (The Atlantis Attacks! tie-in. There's a backup Doom/Magneto story that's well done)
FF #350, 352 - Doom versus Reed in a battle between seconds as done by Walt Simonson in his prime

I really really wish the Dark Reign special had better art.

Also for great Doom stories, the Entire Iron Man/Doctor Doom Camelot trilogy is aces

    There's two trades.

Doomquest which has the first two parts, and Legacy of Doom, which has the last part.

Also, if you can find it anywhere, Emperor Doom.

Well if Mockingbird can get shot in the back by a fireball in HELL and die, then be buried by her husband, and somehow show up on an alien ship 15 years later, I'm sure anything's possible.

Never quite said it was a bad thing but it's not the way Doom talks. I'm referencing his speech in Mighty Avengers #11 for those uninitiated. Hell, when infamous Livejournal(among other things) poster "Box-in-a-box" posted the scene on S_D and ripped into Bendis, I got so pissed I launched into a "friendly" diatribe defending BMB. To his credit however BiaB never got nasty with me, nor I with him in our responses.

Ah, so that's one plot thread down. Though why is the grandson of GR there and not Druid? And who's the woman with the white hair? I know I should recognize her, but I don't.

Oh, on another note. I've made a diptych of two of the three MA covers that make up the triptych with the whole roster.

Well hm. Looks like I'm not going to be reading Mighty Avengers then. That lineup is as uninteresting as the Great Lakes Avengers. Let's run down the list, shall we?

U.S. Agent - So lame, he got sent to Canada
    Iron Man - Douchebag
    Ares - Too hairy
Scarlet Witch - Always seems to cause lots of shit to go wrong
Wifebeater Wasp - Didn't really care about him until he got abducted, still kinda don't
Robot Woman Girl - Who is that?

Fuck you. Great Lakes Initiative is awesome.

Anyway, that's Herc (and Amadeus Cho), not Ares. Ares is a Dark Avenger.

And the robot is Jocasta, who looks like and has Janet's brain waves.

The rest of the team includes Hulk, Vision and Stature.

    It's a shame they won't show the MA's new digs until #26. I hope it's a Watchtower.

What I wanna know is if the first story's lineup will stick together. I kinda get an Avengers Forever vibe from what little details we know so far. Are the Mighty Avengers going to become like the New Exiles or the JLI?

    No shit.

For the Machine Man fans... Hope.
IGN Comics: I was going to ask if there was any chance you could throw Machine Man in there too, but maybe this new Jocasta doesn't have quite the same connection to him...

Slott: She's still Jocasta and acting the way Jocasta acts and being the way Jocasta is. But I think we're going to explore more of the concept of her being based on Janet's brain patterns. But she's still the same drama-filled robot that we've seen over the years. But who knows? Maybe Machine Man will pop on by to cause some more strife. She's this lovelorn robot girl with such great Avengers ties and history behind her.
