Poor ol' Japan is always under siege from giant monsters like Godzilla and King Ghidora and Rodan and there's always giant robots to defend it like Ultraman and the Power Rangers
Collectively this genre is known as 'kaiju' which translates to 'monster' in English (the best language olol)
now I'm not a weeaboo otaku gaijn kawaii ^_^ or nothing but watching people in latex monster suits beat eachother up is pretty fun times
there's a whole lot of this shit, too:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiju
But it doesn't all come from Japan! Kaiju Big Battel marries pro wrasslin' with the cheesiness of Kaiju for something really strange and hard not to watch:
Los Plantanos fighting Craw and Grudyin
and there's games, too! Like
King of the Monsters 2
in which you pick a giant monster like Super Geon (basically Godzilla), Atomic Guy (think Ultraman), Cyber Woo (a giant robot gorilla) and beat eachother senseless with buildings and vehicles and your teeth and claws!
but not all kaiju games are electronic:

Monsterpocalypse is a new CMG (collectible miniature game) with kaiju-inspired monsters and gameplay with 6 different factions: including:
- G.U.A.R.D. - Earth's frontline defense against those who would try to kill us all! People don't like them a whole lot because they cause just as much damage defending Earth as the monster's they are fighting could do uninterrupted, but who's going to try and stop a 61-meter robot with rocket launchers attached to its arms?
- Planet Eaters - Descending to Earth from a comet, the Planet Eaters desire only wanton destruction!
- Lords of Cthul - Holy H.P. Lovecraft, Batman! The Lords of Cthul were summoned to our dimension by evil cultists who were promptly torn asunder when the otherwordly portal opened, and seek to bring the apocalypse!

The site is mostly likely being hammered right now, Monsterpocalypse is doing really well (most stores, both brick-and-mortar and online, are sold out or close to it)

Destroyah > Everyone else
Every one of those movies is a god damn gem
orga > destroyah > everyone
destroyah had range but orga had him beat up close with pure strength.
Kay I think I need to dig this up or find the sequel. Now.
ROCK BOTTOM
Anybody see Godzilla Final Wars? Had it's moments but way too much human drama nobody cares about.
Plus Godzilla was scary in that film
Yeah, and then there was the dudes at the end that were basically super saiyans or whatever the fuck.
hadn't seen it yet, though i did see the fight between the new york zilla and the japanese ones. really, japan? you hated the monster so much that you wanted to kill it in 30 seconds of filming, with bad cgi to further mock it?
They are awesome.
Oh god I forgot about that part. So awesome.
:x I loved that monster, dammit! his movie may have sucked, but that's no excuse to kill a giant awesome lizard.
LOS PLANTANOS!
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

That shit is kaiju-cinematic gold.
no, this game was fun
maybe you're crap
seriously though, I liked this game
don't shit on my youth
and also having enough money to build and actual force to play with
War of the Monsters was most excellent, and only Hulk: Ultimate Destruction topped it in the amount of damage you could do to cities. The character roster was also surprisingly large and diverse, as I recall...
