Hi there, this is Toren from The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets
The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets is a rock band dedicated to promoting the literature of 1930's pulp fiction author H.P. Lovecraft.
We've been recording and touring since 1992. Recently, one of our tracks has appeared on the video game Rock Band. To celebrate, we're planning a special event on Dec 6 in Vancouver which we are calling CTHULHUPALOOZA. This event will take place at the Rio Theatre on Broadway and Commercial in Vancouver. The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets consistently plays to sell out crowds in Vancouver and we expect a crowd of over 400 fans for this event.
This celebration will feature a live performance by The Thickets and a Rock Band competition. We will also be screening the silent film "The Call of Cthulhu" by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society.
We're pleased to be presenting Cthulhupalooza as a fundraiser with partial proceeds to Child's Play charity (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/) and BC Children's Hospital. Child's Play is a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in a network of over 40 hospitals worldwide including BC Children's Hospital.
Currently, we are asking for sponsors to provide prizes for the contest, to help us advertise, and in general to promote exposure for the event and all things nerdy and Lovecraftian.
For prizes, we will gladly accept stock, gift certificates, webstore credit, and the like.
In exchange for your sponsorship we will gladly advertise your company on our posters, website and of course, a big thank you at the show. If you have a video ad we would be happy to show it before the film.
