This is going to sound silly, but I'm currently having half a panic attack right now and I need someone to work it out with me... Traditinoally I'd go to my wife, but she's asleep right now, and I'm clearly not.

In this particular case I'm currently feeling like my head is going to burst. I feel this pressure inside that I can't exactly identify as real or fake, but what I'm essentially after is someone to tell me, and reassure how there's most likely absolutly nothing wrong with me, and that if there was then X would be happening, or Y.

Oddly enough though this pressure feeling didn't start occuring since about 3 or 4 weeks ago while I was playing Spore, I was wearing my headphones when all of a sudden I felt something inside my head and that's when the problem started being noticeable. Off and on since then I'll get that feeling.

Also doesn't help that I have chest pains, though I'm pretty sure I've got those down to overworked muscles, which massaging certain areas seems to be helping.

But please, explain the ways that my head, or brain is clearly not at risk of bursting inside my skull. I'm only 23 years old, I shouldn't be having these types of pains. But here I am, freaking out.,,,

Relaaax, stiffness of the neck muscles can easily cause what you're describing. Playing spore with headphones you're all kinds of looking at the screen at your creatures and or ufo. Tensing up, seeing whats happening etc. Do you work out? Or have a physically arduous job? That, again, might explain it. Go see a doctor if you can, go to a free clinic or something. This'll give you some 100% type peace of mind.

edit: hell allergies even, but is it the season for something?

I'm a the in-charge technician of a computer repair department of a failing electronics company, the not only am I expected to heft around desktops and such, but the job itself is stressful as I'm running the risk of losing it by the end of the year since the company is not doing well. I don't work out.

As for allergies, I'm in florida, so anything is possible.

Long term advice:Go to a doctor.

Immediate advice: Alright here is what you do. 1 breath every 3 seconds.

Everything is alright. You are fine and everything will be fine. Chill. Chill.

Job losing stress like that can easily cause what you're describing. Even if you haven't been consciously worrying about it. Especially then actually.

What part of Florida? There may be something in the air this time of year -- I've been living on antihistamines for the past week or two -- every time it wears off I end up with a splitting headache. (I'm in Jacksonville.) My husband thinks it's the drop in humidity over the past week or so, with fall hitting, but there are some pollens that are high in the fall too.

So, long-term, as someone else said, see a doctor. Possibly an allergist. Meanwhile, there are several different antihistamines available OTC. I'm taking a store-brand version of Claratin, but different things work better for different people. Shouldn't hurt to at least try.
