I've been having trouble writing to DVD-R discs (haven't tried other types, but they are probably the same). I'm using ImgBurn to write files to the discs, basically doing backups of my system because I'm overdue. The thing is, it burns just fine without errors, but then it can't be read by the same drive.
Something that I noticed, though: The discs aren't autorunning, including when I put the blank discs in the drive. Usually, it would autorun, giving options for what I want to do with the blank media. That's not happening. I am seeing the pointer turn to the pointer with hourglass. And I think I saw window open in the taskbar (using Windows XP SP3, btw) then quickly close or minimize in some way. I'm guessing that Windows is somehow stuck with the autorun feature open but hidden, which may be screwing things up. I have checked the Windows registry that all the autorun setting are indeed on.
Any ideas what's going on, or what I can do?
