Do what I did - use the downtime to go through the singleplayer levels and grab more assets for build mode.
Also, I just completed World 3 (The Wedding). WONDERFUL set of stages. I've always been a fan of the Day of the Dead and the artwork in these stages brought back fond memories of playing Grim Fandango as a kid. 8-)

Hopefully they will be back up tomorrow... I set aside this time off for LBP and it would suck if I only get it for a few, great, hours. I wonder if there is any news of what is going on in any of the SONY or MM forums?

Well hearing about the horrible lag is making me hate being at work a little less. Verry little though. Thought they had all the anoying little server issues ironed out in beta but I guess not.
I don't know what's more satisfying, getting a level working just about right, playing through it a couple times and still tweaking before readying the publish button, or looking up at the clock and noticing it's 2 am and not wanting to admit when you started working on that level.
Then the disappointment follows when you try to publish and the servers are down :-/
Anyone who isn't currently on the servers, are you able to log on?
edit: I'll go back to single-player for a bit then. seems like everyone on my friend list is having the same deal.
Speaking of though, I can't understand how I'm only at 84% in Get a Grip... I've been over the trees and over the clouds and picked up the items from all of the stickers. Can anyone who has 100%'ed this stage tell me where they think the hardest to get items are in this level? This place has no multi only areas, so it should be totally possible on one's own.
There is a hidden section that requires timing or two players. There is a section where you ride a horse down a hill. Halfway down the hill there is a tree you can jump on top of if you are on the horse. So you either time the jump, or you and a second player pull the horse back up the hill.

Well, Amazon shipped my order yesterday, and it looks like I’ll get it today or tomorrow. My half-hearted attempts at getting it early were for naught. When I called game crazy yesterday they still maintained that it wasn’t coming out until ’some time in November.’
I couldn't belive how bad the game locked up last night because of the servers. I did get to play a couple of levels. Namely Super Mario 1-1 and a couple of the trophy levels and they were great. Hopefully they will have this hammered out soon.

I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

I love how people made levels just to make getting trophies easier.
And then I couldn't play them.
Called up my local Gamestop and they said they had two copies left. Hooray! I went on down to the store to find a couple mothers with their spoiled whiney kids trading in older systems and games. As there were only two employees and each with a customer to deal with I waited. I waited some more and after about 20 minutes of fucking standing there without a single nod from either employee (a "we'll be with you shortly" would have been nice) I finally get to the counter. "I would like a copy of littlebigplanet please, I called about 40 minutes ago and you said you had some available". So the employee goes wandering about the store opening every drawer and finally draws his conclusion based on the big ass white piece of paper next to his monitor: "sorry sir we won't be getting that game in until wednesday".
Needless to say I was pretty pissed and stormed outta there spouting some harshness about them removing head from ass. I called best buy and I had my game about five minutes later. Funny thing is my friend took off half way through my waiting session at one Gamestop to get some food across the street at the mall, which has another Gamestop. Second Gamestop had copies. Assholes.
I think WoW was worse to me. The loot lag was absolutely horrible for the first couple of weeks. Of course I also have way too many games to play right now.
Yeah I realized after typing that, that I shouldn't have started the sentence with "wow". Stupid blizzard, ruining my words. I wish we could connect by IP and play
YAY! Finally some good news. Reading this after sleeping in so long was making me a bit depressed. I'm going to check on the servers now - thanks Lord Nibbler!
edit: After checking just now, I find the servers are still down...
The server downtime will give me an opportunity to finish the story mode and to collect objects and materials and create stages. I have to say, I had a few good ideas for stage creation, but story mode really just opened my eyes on how much stuff we could create with so little "functions". The snake route thing in the Jalapeno stages? Pure awesome. The fact that you could run down the dangerous paths to collect objects, the whole presentation, it was just sublime.
Oh man, so satisfying to publish something. I wanted to try something small, but ended up making something a bit bigger than expected. And man, what a learning experience too. Working with the foreground/background moving really makes you conscience of how you lay things out.
Anyways, level is called "Tumbling Labyrinth" and is basically a maze-ish thing set inside a turning wheel.
On another note... went by Gamestop today and every time someone would ask about getting LBP, the clerk would tell them how disappointed everyone was who preordered and that the game may not be worth picking up. I'm so glad I don't share those sentiments. The creation tool alon is something I've never really seen before. I can't even believe what's possible with it.
Yeah, I feel bad now, never knew I was disappointed.
Truthfully, the only thing I'm disappointed in is the server stability - and that stems from loving the game too damn much and really wanting to play with others and their creations.

I love my PS3, LBP is an incredible game, and this is the worst game launch I've ever had my eye on.
