I think I might try and put some guides together for the next thread, stuff like "How babby is formed" and "Making money" (comedy title to follow). What other things do people think should be included?
So this sound like a good plan? Just buy all the weapons from the bowerstone blacksmith, then travel to fairfax, sell them all, rinse, repeat, until I have tons of cash to buy it?
Or will the blacksmith run out of inventory?
The Cow and Corset costs right around 60,000 gold, give or take a bit depending on the town's economy and how well you are liked (I highly recommend getting the barman's love for you up to max in order to save some coin... or kill him I guess).
What I did was grind the bartending job in Oakfield to make the 60k, then bought the C&C... after that I did side jobs and some of the main quest, with gold building up all the while. My dude now owns every pub in the land.

There was no quote when I originally quoted it and made my comment. I was just looking for an excuse to use that, though.
My previous question was bottomed. Do the titles actually offer any benefits?
Do you age, like at all? If I did the whole "sleep for 7 days to take advantage of trade inventories", would I basically be fast forwarding myself to old age?
If you gain weight from eating food, can you work it off at all? I've seen a few "Weight +whatever" popups, but nothing in the other direction.

So you are saying there was ninja editing involved? Madness.
As to your question, I don't believe titles grant any benefits. I can't remember seeing any listed on the Town Crier, that is. However, I'd say the benefits to the different titles are the various comments townsfolk make in regard to it.

You don't really age as you did in Fable I, no. There are certain game events which can affect this, but you cannot 'fast-forward' your way into the retirement home.
There are plenty of -weight options, all of which are found at the Produce Store. Celery tends to be the best option.

Yeah, there are a lot of bitchy gripes, but if there are things like "taking this quest means you're unable to continue in the game" I think they should be in the OP.
scale of 1 to 10, how is the overall story? To be honest the only reason I haven't started this game yet is for all the extras and sidequests there are in this game if there is no motivation to actually go out and do them it means jack all to me.

I have liked the story so far (I'm right before the 'on rails' part that ends the game), but it is certainly nothing ground-breaking in terms of plot twists and what have you. Really, the story to me feels more like a vehicle just to take you around and show you this magnificent world Lionhead has created for you to play in. But you have to go play in it to really love Fable 2.
This game is played for the sidequests and other ways to dick around. If you're hoping for some sort've magnum opus of storytelling, you've bought the wrong game. Fable 2 is all about finding little ways to distract you; you'll be tooling along towards a quest objective when something pops up in a ooh, what's that? sorta way. 5 hours later you realize you totally forgot you were doing a quest because you've been chopping wood, meeting people, digging up treasures and collecting STDs.

Celery is the only option, as far as I've seen. It's the only item that actually says "-5% Fatness" or whatever. The rest are only +Purity, which doesn't make you thinner.

As cool as guns are, I think L3 Time Control + L5 Inferno is ridiculous as a "die, just lay down and die" combo. It's the combo that got me through the crucible as all perfect, at just under 600s (598). I still use it to run the crucible for wads of XP. I am also fully tricked out for close combat, so when need to, I can still crack a skull or two, but damn hitting Time Control, then charging up a full Inferno, is a great way to just clear out an area.
I find magic too slow, once you get your physique(i think thats what its called..whatever makes you hit harder) and speed leveled up you can clear all but the biggest groups faster without it than with. (as an aside I cleared the crucible in 601 seconds using nothing but the red dragon, and that was before I had sub targetting or speed maxxed, because at the time it was soooo much better than my melee weapon)
on a completely unrelated note (very minor bloodstone sidequest spoiler)
i've been combing the stupid fucking treasure island trying to find the last treasure chest for a good 30 minutes with no luck, i'm about ready to go back to town and gut the fucker that gave me this quest like a fish and hope it cancels it
Lay the locations you covered on me. I probably have them memorized by now.
The dialogue is great. Genuinely funny sometimes, and great at being self referential. All the little nods to cliche game design and story are in there. It's great.
But Fable 2 has the worst UI I have seen in a game for about 5 years. I mean fucking christ. Everytime I want to use a potion I have to reload the menu? Over and over? And it takes a fucking age to load it up. I've had visual glitches, been stuck on the region screen and had to hard reset.
When Im equipping clothes every time I select a new category the avatar goes back to spinning around so I am constantly looking at the back of my character. Everything is slow. ARGH.
Are there any decent spellcasting robes for an evil mage? Level 5 inferno is retardedly great. Like, you feel like you could blow up the universe.
Other than that, just got to Bloodstone. Everything is super sweet. Lovin this game, bar the horrendous menu system.
So what's the deal with gargoyles? The loading tip talks about them, but what do they look like? I've passed a bunch of gargoyle statues but I've never heard any of them insulting me or anything, and when I shoot them nothing happens.

You mean healing potions, right? Why aren't you hitting left on the d-pad? Or right, if you wanna munch food.
My gripe is with the will/skill/strength/XP potions, I like to use them in combat because for some reason I believe that percentage bonus after the fight also applies to what you drank. Drunk? Drinked?
Well thats how it was in fable 1 you got the xp multiplyer when you used an xp potion. However, I think in fable 2 the experience bonus is like marked per orb possibly. I don't notice an increase from drinking a potion after a good fight.

Because the d-pad doesn't always auto-load potions into it, or because the d-pad doesn't let you choose which potion out of your inventory you want to drink. The d-pad as used in the Fable series is the worst excuse for a control interface ever.

This brings another gripe to mind: It's CRAZY how fast exp orbs disappear in combat in this game. I know the difference between them combining to form larger orbs and disappearing, but it seems like in a big fight, you have to stop and gather up your orbs at least twice or you run the risk of them just fading out. I've compared numbers of gained exp from the same amount of opponents with stopping and gathering exp in the fight and just waiting until after it's over, and let me tell you: STOP AND GET THE EXP. Don't wait to pick it up until you're done, or you'll miss a significant chunk in any fight that lasts more than a few seconds.

Are you kidding? The game manual said the only time you lose exp orbs is if you die in combat. So i'm actually losing EXP because I wait till everyone is dead to pick it up? Can someone else confirm or deny this?

As i posted above, no you don't lose orbs. It just sometimes does not do the animations of them combining so the framerate can be saved
The orbs always combine. It just doesn't do the animation sometimes.
No, they don't. I'll give an example. I'm fighting four bandits. During the first fight, I will use only Force Push and gather exp only at the end of the fight. I will get roughly 20 will exp for it, not taking any damage and getting about a 100% bonus. The next fight with four bandits goes exactly the same, only I pause during it to pick up the exp from the one that dies first before finishing off the rest, and I will get a total of 80 will exp. Seriously, try it out. It's way more beneficial, exp-wise, to stop in the middle of the fight and pick it up. Experience can and does expire if you just let it sit, it doesn't always just combine into the new exp orbs that drop.
EXP orbs never disappear unless you die or transition to a different region.
Still, if you are close to death do you fight on to try and survive or salvage what EXP orbs you can before you crumble?
You should just be able to walk over them to collect them as well as using RT to suck em in.
This is what I thought before I tested it out. Seriously, go try it. You will get more exp from the same fights with the same bonuses if you stop in the middle and pick it up. Experience definitely does expire.
