Hooking up a peripheral to a computer (PS2)

I'd like to hook up a PS2 to my computer so I can switch to the PS2 as the input for video/audio. I'm using a GTX 7800 nvidia card (it has a video input). I'm running XP pro and have a compupack connector.

IT looks like the NVIDA Control Panel won't allow me to do it, do I need a program to allow me to do this, or am I missing something here?

Are you positive that your video card actually has an external video input? Usually they just have multiple outputs. Unless your monitor supports alternative types of video inputs, you usually need a video capture card for your computer, and most of those aren't ideal for gaming because of the latency involved.

Normally you'd just hook your device into the Video-In port on your card. You'll need to run some kind of app (such as a video capture program) to actually process/display the input, though. For audio, you'd have to use the audio input of your sound card of course.

Based on your description 9wanting to "switch" between the two), though, it seems more like you want to hook your PS2 up to a second input on your monitor, which may or may not be possible depending on the available input jacks.
