Yay my first naming thread! Anyway, i need some help...badly...with coming up with a name for my new Siberian Husky (Female, 12 weeks old). It has been almost 48 hours since she has been in my possession and i still cannot find a name that just...clicks.
To help, i really want to name her after a video game character/Anime, because i really dislike human names* for a pet. I want it to be original, yet not so farfetched that people will say "Wtf?" when they ask her name.
*i know that anime names are based off of human names, but in USA, a name like "Mononoke" is not a human name. Make sense?
So on with the pictures!
These were just taken today:
This was taken at 4 weeks:
....damn, i need to give her a bath. Those mud clumps look like some skin disease.
After clicking on your link, i scrolled a little and the first name i saw was: Ayame. that seems to click pretty well with me, because i am deeply in love with the Tenchu series. the name is feminine, yet strong for a dog like a husky. I think i might name her that unless someone throws something out there that will sit better with me.
She is a cutie.
Is this your first husky? Get ready.(I have rescued two, lost one to a heart attack this summer)
They are high energy and require lots of exercise(or they can be really hard to handle). They also love to dig and chew.
If you think you may keep her around cats, be sure to start socialising early, huskies have a high prey drive and will chase and kill a cat.
Mine(Faye) also sheds about four Dyson canisters worth a week. She has been spazzing with her ball for the last hour and has finally calmed down for the evening.
Your new puppy's going to need lots of open space to run around in and stuff, my husky runs around like crazy when we go to the park and bundle together with my jindo they go NUTS. It's cute when the jindo jumps to a high spot and the husky looks on knowing she can't follow her man. Of course my girlfriend's pugs get tired after a few minutes with those guys and they sleep... anyway, dog stories aside.
My suggestion is tenka, it's snow in Japanese apparently I used a crappy online translator.

Or, if the dog is a little dumber in the head.
Bonk.

Or if going for the video games angle,
Aeris.
As far as names...uhm...Spike, as in Spike Spiegel?
Uppercut.
Tornado.
Blaster.
Or a tradtional Siberian name?
or Yuki-onna
(means snow, or lucky/fortunate, i dont know shit about japanese)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuki-onna
that dog is very pretty
Also the dog has to live with its name, it will be teased if you pick a dumb one and develope a crippling social malfunction.
I think an eastern european name would be the way to go, a dog like that with a japanese name being walked by a white person, it just doesnt fit.
That's impossible as my parents were a pound of sugar and a loaf of Wonderbread!
As for that dog's name... Atepa or Matty.
