What the crap... fable 2 has a 6.1 score on metacritic
so i went to see what a week of reviews did foe fable 2 over at metacritic and i was real surprised to see it with a score of 9.0 from the media and 6.1 from users.
Who are these people who are rating down the score so much?
Anyhow it brings up a point about these meta based review sites... People get a game like say , spore and decide they dont like the drm that ea put on it.
In matter of a week or so the game is rated 2/10 based on idiots stating "vote this down if you dont like ____"
Which is the problem with all tuese sites. Let zelda fans vote on a game like fable and they wont like it.
Anyhow, i have the game and am less than an hour into it (damn you responsibilities!) but is it that bad?
Does it deserve that D score?
fable 2 has some glaring flaws and some bad glitches (like game breaking ones). The glitches that break the game aren't easy to have happen, but it's annoying in any case. However, honestly? the game is fucking awesome. I'm enjoying being the slumlord and buying all the properties and being rich off my ass. I'm going all good/all pure with only will power as my means of combat. Yes, I could just max everything out and be an everything character, but that would make my girl wizard look ugly and beefy with massive arm strength and I don't want that.
I dunno, it's a ton of fun with a great emphasis on exploration and treasure hunting. If you just sit back and let yourself have fun with it, you'll probably love it.
I don't ever EVER base my decision on scores determined by the users. Most gamers in general (and fanboys in particular) are too fucking stupid to command a 10-point scale score button.

I like it when the bar says quircky things depending on how I rate it...the funnier the feedback is from the scroll bar tdetermines the score it gets!
I hate fanboys. Back when I was a kid, gaming was cool among kids, since it was for them (even though it wasn't just for kids, adults were enjoying it too). Growing up, games became for nerds during my teenagehood and being a gamer meant being a lifeless loser. Now, gaming is becoming more mainstream and I could finally call myself a gamer (as in, a videogame enthusiast, who appreciates playing those and is interested about news regarding them and general info on the subject) without being an outcast, a greasy nerd or a creep, but then the fanboys came in and ruined it for us normal people.
Now, gamers are stupid lifeless dorks again. And I can't call myself a gamer anymore, even though I am one by my own standarts of what makes a gamer a gamer, just because I don't want to be associated with gamers.

This.
Also, Kotaku ran a story on this subject the other day: Fanboy dorks ruin Metacritic.
Maybe the game is shit.

Also it looks just plain weird in motion. That goofy lighting that worked in the first Fable makes this game give me a headache.
Other than that though? Not that bad.
