Alright, incidentally the Mirror's Edge time trial code I got today basically created a new EA Account from my PS3, so I shot them an e-mail about the 20 free DLC code error, asking for a simple exchange since the 360 code I received has not been used, hopefully they will be able to do that.
Sorry if I came off as pissy last night, I just got done working a 14-hour shift to come home and find DLC codes for the wrong system.
I personally didn't think you were being particularly pissy. And I'd think you were totally justified in it anyway. I'd hope that you wouldn't think I was being stroppy in asking the kind of CS questions you'd get talking to EA. You never know, so you need to ask...
Also, Sons and Daughters is very fun to play. Guitar at least. Like I said in my mini-review a few pages back, most songs are fairly bland. Lots of repetitive strumming or easy chords. Sons and Daughters isn't very challenging and there is no solo section, but the song itself makes up for it.
RB1 to RB2 is unlimited as long as you pay the licensing fee each time.
I believe it was stated later, but Arikado really should've used the phrase 'for each system' instead of 'each time'. You can export songs from RB1 as many times as you like so long as you still have the license on the system (which can be downloaded again from the Download History just like any other file). But like all DRM content, it's tied to the system/gamertag. The DRM tool can be used if needed, but it's best to ultimately wait for the system to return (in Arcath's example) than to do it twice.
I also suspect that the AC/DC track pack and the 20 DLC track pack work the same way. As soon as you successfully enter the correct code and start to download it, it goes into your Download History and should work like any other piece of DLC purchased over LIVE.
I don't know how it works for PSN, but I'd assume that whatever rules they use for re-downloading stuff would also apply as appropriate.

I've heard 2 different rules for re-downloading on the PS3 and I'm not sure which is correct:
1) DLC can be downloaded up to 5 times on any console you want as long as you're logged in on the PSN of the person who bought it when you download. After you download it 5 times you have to buy it again.
2) DLC can be downloaded as many times as you want on the original console it's purchased on and up to 5 times on other consoles as long as you're logged in on the PSN of the person who bought it when you download.
I think it's probably #1 but I dunno... at least it's safe to say you can do it 5 times minimum on any console you want.
So why are people actually playing the infinite challenges? Completion's sake?
It's partially that for me, but I'm not going to obsess over it. I also like the fact that it will force me to play songs I otherwise wouldn't have touched for quite awhile, and help me rediscover some old favorites. I'm also curious to see what happens if I finish one and then get some DLC that would have been part of the list when I started the set originally.

I know that my Infinite 00's set cycled out songs that I've beaten, since it's been over 100 constantly. It was in progress with like 10 out of 100, and then after I downloaded a couple songs it pulled all 10 of those that I had beaten and I then had a full 100 song list again.
Other than that, say you've done the Infinite 60's (Easiest one for sure) and then get another song from then. It places it somewhere in the set, but then all you have to do is play that song.

That's what I was speculating would happen, but I haven't gotten around to triggering that scenario for myself yet. So it basically means that those of us that are DLC junkies are going to never finish them. :P

I thought it was that DLC can be downloaded on up to 5 different consoles, but basically unlimited times on each console. Once you've downloaded it on 5 different consoles, though, you're done. But now there's an option to de-authorize a console from your DLC, so I'm not sure how that works with it. It may give you back one of your console downloads, then.

Basically the same reasoning for me. It's just something to do.
So I just got my arcade deal refurb 20GB hard drive in so I can finally export the RB1 songs from my rental. I wonder if their refurbs usually come with some arcade games installed or if I got one that wasn't really wiped. I have Geometry Wars, SFII, and a few other decent games on there.

Score.
Those are all bonus finds, my friend; the only thing that comes installed on new drives is Hexic. Though on my used HD from eBay, I got a few Gamerpics and some shitty metal albums.
Nice. Got about 10 arcade games, a few themes, and some gamer pics. Finished exporting the RB1 songs and am now downloading the free 20 songs. My library.. it grows.
Overall it was fun. Some hairy stuff, but I managed to 5 star everything, and golded 3 songs. I even managed to FC You Shook Me All Night Long. I was generally prepared for the super hard solos (by having overdrive ready). Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap solo looks harder, but with a full bar of overdrive, I had no problems spamming through it.
I failed in the solo to High Voltage (failing a 10 minute song at 70% is annoying), but scraped through my next time. Also managed to get through the Highway to Hell trill without overdrive after 5 or 6 tries. If you are an ACDC fan, I would recommend this pack for guitar alone. It was pretty fun.
Did as much achievement whoring as I could, only didnt get the 100% vocals one and for some reason I didnt get the play through the whole setlist in one sitting achievement. I think it was because I accidentaly backed out after one song and that apparently means I cheated or something
Bah what the hell. I just did 100% on a guitar solo with just the solo frets but I didn't get the $%^ing trophy. Probably because I failed the song then (my hand got fucked up trying to go back to the normal frets)...

Like a Fool and I Wanna Be Your Man are amazing songs that are amazingly fun to play and anyone who doesn't agree can just go to hell.
Prequel to the Sequel is also fun to play but it is a pretty crappy song.

You have to beat the song in order to get it.
Also: You can continue to use the solo frets as normal frets whilst strumming and then shift hand position if desired during a lull.

Then you just suck.
Are you sure you hit all the correct notes and didn't 'overstrum' at any point? You can still get 100% for solos but break combo just like anything else. Are you trying different songs? Maybe you've found a buggy song.
Give It Away is the easiest song to do it on IMO - the solo is trivial and there's a huge break before the solo to get in position. You can't strum, also, you have to tap... and you have to hit the few notes directly before the solo too apparently.
Isn't that the one where you have to play in every venue at least once in the Tour?
EDIT:
I just looked at it. All I did to get it was to make all cities available (which grants eventual 'access'). It sounds like you've got some weird shit going on.

You are exactly correct sir.
I will say though, for pure fun factor only, not difficulty or actual musical taste, I think "I'm Going, I'm Gone" is the best song in the 20. Damn the guitar was fun -- and then the drums were even MORE fun. I kinda wanna be in a backing band for some girl pop singer now...
mxmarks on
PSN: mxmarks - WiiU: mxmarks - twitter: @ MikesPS4 - twitch.tv/mxmarks - "Yes, mxmarks is the King of Queens" - Unbreakable Vow
SO yea I got the redemption code for the 20 free songs (awesome fun btw) off the back of a rental copy of RB2 and it actually worked. I also found out that you can play the new songs on RB1 for anyone thats curious.
Having I Wanna Be Your Man makes me want I'm Waiting for the Man by the Velvet Underground. It would be a bit repetitive (it is proto-punk after all), but I love that song.
Oh, I was on at that time. I don't think I have you in my friends list though.
I finished playing through the 20 songs. There are a few fun songs in there. Nothing that I was thought absolutely awesome but also nothing that was terrible. Of course the last four songs I tried using just the solo frets because I wanted to try a solo with them, but none of them turned out to actually have solos. Oh well.
Okay, so Harmonix fixed my ordeal and sent me PS3 codes. Much better mood tonight.
Huzzah! Did they say why? I'd guess some just kind of slipped through the cracks. What with this being a new kind of thing and all.
And on another positive note, I finally beat Visions on Expert. I'll need a few more runs to determine just how solid I can be on that song and then I can contemplate Endless Setlist 2 on Expert.
It's been said before, but fuck that noise! There has got to be better examples of that genre of music. I refuse to believe that song was picked as much more than a joke on the gaming community rather than a serious attempt to expose people to new music... Refuse!

Other question: What do you need to do to get Worldwide Sensation, because I have no cities grayed out at all, but don't have this now...
I thought this too - you need to play in every *venue* not every city.
EDIT:
I just looked at it. All I did to get it was to make all cities available (which grants eventual 'access'). It sounds like you've got some weird shit going on.
There's two. One says "gained the ability to play around the world"
The other says "Played in every venue in the world"
I'm talking about the former and not the latter.

So my sister and I are playing, if anyone needs a singer and a guitarist shoot us an invite.
Also, we're streaming because my sister needs a bigger ego (as any other guitarist does).

Well, full band is all sorts of fun.
Do songs unlocked from solo apply to the multi play too though?
Also, Visions is definitely not the best example the genre has to offer.
Edit: also quite surprised at how solid the instruments are.
