BC'ers Meetup - Snowboarding anyone?

leafleaf Registered User regular
edited January 2007 in PAX Archive
So inspired by the other similar thread, I'm curious if there's any BC kids that would want to get together sometime this winter.

Me and this other guy I know/met at pax have a plan to meet up for some snowboarding this winter. It's just preliminary plans, I'm thinking of somewhere like Nelson or Castlegar. Of course that's just our plans, regardless of others showing up.

I'm just curious if anyone else would be down for something like this, if we get enough interest we could set up plans for someplace.

Also, I'm kind of intending this for the interior of bc, not the coast. That's cool if you'd drive out this far, but I'm just trying to keep something local for me and others of us out here.

I'd come hang out, if it wasn't too far out of the way. But unless anyone wants to hand-hold the most ungraceful newbie ever to hit the slopes, you really don't want to see me on a snowboard.

I will totally come if someone is there to not to sports with me. We should all go out to whistler and rent a cottage.

I am no BCer, as you may know. But also, those of your IN the know, are aware that I will be trying to make a fabulous trip to the backyard of my dear Canadian counterparts. And by I, I mean we, as my lady also would be joining me. And seeing as how I am about as talented at snowboarding as I am at, let's say, bronco riding and double dutch jump rope, I would prefer to just hang out and have some fun.

And so I say unto ye who have no desire to tumble down a mountain at the speed of sound....

    SNOWBALL FIGHT!

4 BC kids is enough to start an event. Lets start talking dates.

Since I just have school, anytime after November is good for me. I'm pretty flexible.

I work. A lot. If I have any chance of getting anywhere, it would have to be on a weekend. However, don't plan too much around me. I'm doing 10-11 hour days right now, and getting the chance to hang up my responsibilities is a slim thing.

I'm entirely too much of a broke-ass student to join you for snowboarding, but I'm certainly in on this other possible event.

How many can you fit there?
There are 4 PA people coming up to Vancouver this winter

Sunpeaks *is* cheaper than Whistler after all, but it is also much further away, and the highways are a deathtrap this time of year.... I'd have a heart attack just looking at the coquihalla.

I vote we just stay in Richmond, that's easy, AND fun. Besides, if we are not gonna be snowboarding or skiing anyways.... theres a lot more stuff to do here than in whistler.

And I can make the runs to Liquor Depot.

    Nothing classier than liquor depot.

It's only unclassy if you buy something unclassy. Like a box of wine.

I also vote for staying in Richmond if there will be no skiing/snowboarding. It's cheaper than staying in the mountians.

I'd be down for just doing stuff in town. Like pubs or drunken parties or whatever.

Ha, well, it's my parents'. It sleeps 4, but it's probably big enough that we could fit a few more on the floor. Oh, and it has a hot tub and we can steal the neighbours' wi-fi.

I kind of totalled my car the other week though, so someone else would have to drive. Also we can only use it when it's not rented, and it's basically full until January.

I'd offer my apartment for a drunken party, but it looks like I'm probably too far away for most of you, and my wife hates when I bring over large groups of drunks that she has to clean up after.

Well, I'm off Friday night and both Saturday and Sunday. So all Fast has to do is quit his job again so he has a couple of days off and we're set. If anyone knows how to make strawberry margaritas my wife will drink those. Or we could go to Cactus Club for Fast's favorite drink.

Which day? And does anyone have floor space should those of us driving across the city drink too much? (of course we're going to drink too much, that's the whole point of this exercise) I'm house broken but I'm afraid Fast isn't.

Of course depending on what else we want to do, my offer of my place because I have lots of games still stands.
