Been thinking more about how SE (or whatever it's called now) is doing so bad lately.

Honestly I think it's Tube. He's fine as a poster but as the admin he kind of sets the tone for the place. And his tone is and always has been (I remember when he joined) an abrupt, rude, arbitrary asshole. He has a rare talent for bringing out and encouraging the absolute worst in people (then banning them for it).

Take the whole episode with the Ban a Forumer thing. Ok so teefs was a thoroughly annoying little shit the last few months but no one deserved that kind of treatment.

When tube was just a jerk of a poster he was funny. As the man in charge he is creating an environment where being an inconsiderate asshole with no finer sentiments whatsoever is encouraged and normal.

Pretty much every forumer on that list who actually had a chance to be banned were people who were blatantly trolls, just rather adept at toeing the line. I actually think he made a rather good admin, for all the persona he put on he was almost always reasonable and pretty fair. By acting the asshole, he headed off constant petty complaints and contrivances you receive in the position he was in. All the changes and actions I can think of that he made to the forum were for the better.

Tube the asshole was great at bludgeoning the forums back into following the rules yes. But as time went on having someone like that in charge has meant that what's left are a bunch of airheaded assholes who follow the rules. Better? I dunno.

People who "toe the line" but never contribute anything worth reading. SE++ right now is the most cliquish and devoid of actual content I remember it ever being. That's pretty damn bad.

    Breakfast club. Pier.

I totally wanted to bone Molly Ringwald in 1985.

Well, you met me halfway, but unfortunately IT WAS THE WRONG HALFWAY.

I love Ally Sheedy in the Breakfast Club and I always will.

Sorry, my wife who is standing behind me reading this post.

It totally wanted to bone Ally Sheedy in 1985, too.

But I liked her character before the makeover. She was a cute crazy chick.

Christ. I need a time machine right fucking now.

Why, to go back in time and play Dungeons & Dragons?

You don't need a time machine for that, people still play that shit all the time, hell there is even a video game for it these days.

    No.

I'm wearing a logoless t-shirt that actually fits me.

Still stuck with shorts instead of full length pants, but after a year of pants in the summer, I am never touching the fucking things unless I move far north. 120 degrees + long pants = FUCK YOU NATURE.

Shorts are fine. Much better with the shirts, though, but also try and find a nice, fitting blazer as well. Now how's your hair?

Still long, but it's at least brushed and tied back and such before I leave the house.

As for a blazer...You have no idea how much I wish I lived in an area where I could wear a blazer or some other jacket over a shirt without melting.

No no, I mean the online D&D play-by-post site. There's a fairly regular following.

In fact, I've never played D&D in person. All my experience with it has been online, either play-by-post or custom NWN servers.
