Protip for the kids out there: It takes about 50 murders to go from full-on good to evil as sin.
And only 300,000 gold donated to a begger to make you full-on good again.
Is there an equivalent for Purity/Corruption?

As far as I know, just adjusting the rents on your property. Make a few rent-free, you'll stay pure. Double the prices in some stores, you'll be corrupt as an Illinois governor.
Hey Dowd, if you'd like to get the Dollcatcher achievement tonight, I'm going to be around. I was busy the past two days, and you didn't reply to the PM I sent, so I assumed you weren't around.
This isn't a private message, because if anybody else wants to grab the Dollcatcher achievement tonight (Wednesday, EST), they can PM me to set something up.

Does tonight extend to midnight? I'll be home then and would love it...

At this point, MS should give up on DLC. They've been cocking this shit up for the last 6 months.
Yeah, saw that earlier and just.. ugh. How Fable II actually managed to be a good game, I'm increasingly failing to comprehend. SO many screw-ups going on.

Even from my limited personal experience, I can tell you that it's fairly hard to develop things on schedule. sometimes shit just pops up.
also, there is a big difference between simplicity of things on paper and their actual implementation. it was no doubt like this before, but the fact that we're all such information gluttons means that we know about the delays and stuff now.

Yes. I know. But MS has fucked up on everything, consistently, for the past 6 months. I mean this isn't even the worst one, they're waiting to release maps for Halo 3 that were finished last August. Guess when they're coming out? September 2009. They won't release the other 3 because they want to bait people into buying Halo Wars for them.
So far this generation, only Nintendo has been consistent, and they were the last ones to get into the online distribution thing.
Their new policy at this point should be no announcement until the content has gone through cert and they're going to release it within 2 weeks.
Any tips on making the combat fun? Because ranged combat is decisively not fun.
Buy rifle. Unlock the "manual aiming" thing. Have fun. Also, be sure to switch it up between all 3 types of attacks. It's just so much more fun that way.

Given every Nintendo platform across the generations has just about the same library... can they really screw anything up? (The Wii is pretty much a slightly beefier GC, ffs)
On-topic!: I have more groinshot kills than headshots. disarmings are second, mostly because people put their weapons in front of their crotches.

Err, you mean to say, everything Microsoft has done has been pretty awesome and worked smoothly for years, while Nintendo continue to offer their embarrassingly crippled mockery of an online service?
Its not Microsoft breaking shit, it's the developers saying, oops, our DLC hooks cause bugs to all hell! We need to fix them first before we can add new stuff.
Loving the game much more than I thought I would. I'm floating around right before finishing the main quest...finally saved up 100g to buy the Cemetery Mansion...and (duh) nobody is renting it out.
Any way to get someone in there? I want the 1000 rent!
Having a hard time getting a lot of money to buy up the shops...I don't have much patience for the jobs I guess. Any suggestions?

Two Easy Ways To Make Money In Fable 2
Method 1: Buy low, sell high!
Every now and then the blacksmiths in the world will have a sale on items. Buy out these items, then head to the gardens. Sell the weapons to the traders there. Rinse, repeat. This will net you a major profit if done right and proper. Bonus $ if you do this to a place you own (you'll buy even lower) or while a shortage in another area goes on (you'll sell for even higher).
Method 2: TIME TRAVEL
This method is abusive of the system. Sign out of live. Adjust your system clock to the earliest date possible, or latest. Load your save with some properties bought and save at that time. Quit the game and sign into live (this will sync the time to their servers) or change your system clock to be the current date or later while not signed in. Wait for your properties rent gained while offline tics. Rinse, repeat.
Note: I think the max you can make off this is 3-days of offline money?

Seriously though, money earned from jobs beats everything, just do the woodchopping job for 15 minutes and you'll have millions in gold

har har - wood chopping gives squat.
Thanks for the above! I will definitely try this. I did it for a few items, but i never really repeated often.
Any ideas about renting out the mansion? That would be a nice chunk of change every 5 minutes...

What??
You do realize all the jobs have a score multiplier which increases forever right? As in, one chop in minute 10 is probably worth about an hour of work in minute one. You'll make more money faster by doing jobs, than by any other way, even with the cheats.

Yeah I understand, but the wood chopping one is supposed to be the shittiest payoff. I made a bunch with the blacksmith work, and I heard the bartending one was great. Sorry, thought you were teasing...I heard from a bunch of people that the woodchopping isnt even worthwhile
I still don't know what to do about the mansion. Damn, it was all my money! hah

I just found woodchopping the easiest, with the jobs the vital thing is to never fail, and build your multiplier. % fail chance is the most important thing, and with woodchopping I could chop away for ages

You can't really fail at buying low and selling high. Sales are quicker.

Cool. Guess I'll be sticking with ranged upgrades till I can pick out specific parts. Thanks guys.
Magic and ranged both take a little while to get good, but guns are great fun once you get the upgrades and have a good gun.
Frankly I wouldn't just totally specialize in one or two of the combat methods. I had a ton of fun and success by upgrading and constantly mixing it up using all three. It really starts to get interesting when you can cast a variety of spells at a variety of levels, pick off the survivors by zooming in and aiming with your gun and then pop the ones who happen to get close enough for melee attacks with a powered up swing. The combat is simple yet full of variety and I really enjoyed it, especially closer to the end of the game.

Agreed, It's really disappointing it was delayed and now I probably won't buy it when it comes out, I was really excited for it to come out next week but now I don't care since it's gonna be another month and the fallout 3 content will be out than.

Oh, I'll be buying it because I absolutely love Fable II (not experienced any of the massive bugs that others have reported) and feel like one of the few people that actually respects Lionhead and Molyneux. I just wish they'd manage to finally develop and launch a game on schedule and without some pretty sizeable issues.
Fable II DLC... well, I'd have bought it, but unfortunately I did suffer one of those game-destroying bugs, and can't quite stomach the game now, after having to charge through on a second run. The second time was not so much fun.
Totally not surprised they have managed to somehow balls up the DLC either

*cough* Mass Effect *cough*
Oh, and fuuuuuuck the Mass Effect 'series of downloads till the sequel' business.
I actually believe wholeheartedly that BioWare had every intention of following through with their episodic downloadable content.
I blame EA.

Move closer.
Draw sword.
Strike bad guy with sword.
:P
Well yes, that's kind of what I was wondering. If melee was more fun or if magic was, or if ranged got good once you could pick body parts.
