This game has restored my faith in Rare. It's excellent, even though I wasn't keen on the vehicle mechanic it works out great.
I feel the same. I was disappointed in the demo, and the game looked boring. But now about halfway through, I am as into this as I was either of the first two.
Does the final version of the game have an option to change text size?
Not yet, but it's supposedly going to be patched. Anyone with just a standard definition TV should probably just wait until that point (like me, but I was a sucker for the pre-order bonus).
I played nuts and bolts long enough for me to finish downloading banjo-kazooie, and haven't touched it since
Seven-and-a-half hours later, I 200/200'd the game, and finished around 360th on the leaderboards. It's been at least 7 years since I lasted played the game, but I could remember nearly everything. I had trouble in Mumbo's Mountain getting used to the controls (I'm ranked in the thousands in that level), got lost for a while in clanker's cavern, and I died a few times in freezy peak due to poorly aimed beak bombs, but Rusty Bucket Bay was a lot easier than I remembered. I got through the engine room without dying, and I always had trouble with that back then.
The game is still fun. I guess the lack of 3d platformers this generation really prevents the game from aging much
The changover process might not have been as interesting as Dream into B-K, but the end result sure was considering the state of the market at the time. And that Nintendo actually let them do it... Nintendo let them get away with a bit more than Microsoft did, based on the censoring of the Xbox Conker. Too bad we probably won't see any more of that rodent. Sigh.
The reason is THQ published Conker: BFD on N64, at least in Europe. Nintendo wouldn't touch it. I'd be surprised if we didn't see Conker again. It's a concept they'll revisit, especially as it's the perfect for the regular Xbox demographic. Just recently one of the Rare higher ups said in an interview they'd be crazy not to revisit Conker, so...
Nintendo published it over here. Nintendo of Europe didn't want to pay for the localization.
My first thought at the last one was 'REVERSE WANGSHIP', because it's got two long things and one orby thing instead of two orby things and one long thing.

It's a Vic Viper knockoff. The defining trait for those is a double pronged front.
About how long is the BK XBLA game? I kind of want to beat it (never played it on N64) before I play N&Bs but my N&B copy just showed up in the mail and the screenshots on this page are making my loins yearn.

B-K was about 18 hours when I played it on the N64 but I'd imagine that not having to go back to improve your note score would chop off a ridiculous amount of time.
I think I'm about halfway done with BK, 5 worlds done at about 40 minutes a piece, give or take. And that's with getting all the notes, Jiggies, and honeycombs. So it wouldn't be too long.

At my current rate its going to take me roughly 15 hours to complete it but i'm taking my sweet time.
Admittedly with my time I had 100 percented it when it originally came out, so I did most of it by memory.
On another note, I was planning on doing the final Grunty confrontation tonight and I found out my copy of Nuts and Bolts finally arrived! Woo hoo! It'll be Banjo goodness tonight! Then again the concept of "Grunty's Furnace Fun" still cracks me up.
I rented this game, but now I'm probably going to buy it...
Love the open-endness of ways you can solve challenges. Sure, you could race your oponnent the old-fation way, but it's so much more fun to use weapons and gadgets to blow them to pieces or throw them off course.
Quick question; is there any way to take some copies of the same item and set them to one button, then set some other copies to another button? So you could, say, have different springs go off with different presses?

Ooh, that's an interesting question. Hmm. Try highlighting it and hitting RB. I know on wheels at least that lets you set them to driven, steering, both or freewheeling, which can really effect car handling.
EDIT: Also, Banjo XBLA has been delayed for non-preorder customers. There were problems getting preorder codes to all preorder customers. MS have admitted this problem, and in order to give ALL Nuts & Bolts buyers 2 weeks exclusive access, have delayed the final release of the game by a bit. The slowdown in 1080p should be patched by then, too. December 3rd proper release now.
I'm probably gonna rent this next week to check it out. There's too many positive comments here for me to ignore it completely. I do wonder how the game keeps you challenged when you can simply make a flying vehicle and bypass most obstacles to your objective.

Flying vehicles don't have the turning radius or precision control of land vehicles so in some cases they are actually harder to use.
Anyone remember the locations for all the stop n swop eggs in Nuts and Bolts? I completed BK during the weekend and I've since forgotten.

I might remember locations, but not colors.
1.shark food island in treasure trove cove
2. nabnuts' house in click clock wood (winter only I think)
3. captain's quarters in rusty bucket bay
4. loggo's room in mad monster mansion
5. alcove on the left wall of gobi's valley
6. basement of mad monster mansion (break the barrels)
the ice key is in wozza's cave in freezeezy peak but I haven't found a purpose for it in N&B. and I feel like I'm forgetting an egg.
Oh wow, my reading comprehension is way off. I still might remember some of those though!
1. in the middle building for banjoland
2. I think one is on top of boggy's gym (possibly for ice key)
3. one on a rooftop in town square (if I'm not crazy)
I forget the rest I'm afraid.

Stop N Swap
One is located along the side of a large island in the lake area. I do not think you need the floaters and propellers on your vehicle to get them, since you could swim out to it and just carry it while you swim.
Never knew Banjo was a fan of the cock, but those pictures do not lie. Think I'll get some of my Little Jack recreation tomorrow.

Hey, speaking of the Stop N' Swap feature, anyone know how to get the codes in the first place? I mean I know I can just look on Gamefaqs or something, but I'd rather find out in game what I have to slam down in the Sand Castle. So far I've seen like 3 egg locations on the floors of various places and the Ice Key, but no such luck at getting the codes.

Made it with a lot of basic parts. I also made a nice submarine that uses hot air balloons to control depth.

You, sir, just sold me this game.

I was having such problems finding everything in Mad monster mansion.
Until I remembered the house has a second floor.

Also, in the Logbox level, you should read the text on the spinning Banjo Kazooie disc. Its pretty damn funny.
Half hour in, on an SDTV, the text is painfully small o.o
Needs an update! Hopefully soon.

Now make it in 3D and mount the wheels backwards, so it's like that unholy Eddie Murphy head that was seen on the freeway.

Well I suppose I was 9 at the time and was fairly uncoordinated
