I'm having the same problems loading my savegame.
I have saved my Game after achieving the "Arsonist" trophy. This savegame won't load and hangs on the loading screen. If I try to go back to the xmb, the whole system crashes. I have also tried to delete, redownload and reinstall the game - no change at all.
Please fix this very annoying and unpleasant bug!!!
I'm having the same problem with my savegame data (PS3) as noted by Xyle and vertex
This happened twice to me:
During the first battle with Charles Dubois (the Rich guy) at the bottom floor of Riverbrook Estates. I was booted out of the game when he threw his "grenade"
I was booted out of the game as I was loading between zones from World Fair to the Riverbrook Estates. All characters lvl 30 and fully upgraded, 5-10 fights away from the Boss Fight
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one suffering from this even though it is a very annoying bug to experience.
I'm having the same "eternal loading screen" issue the posters above me are having. Got booted out of the Charles fight and now am completely unable to load the game. This is on a 60-gig PS3. I'm pretty unhappy about it too. I was _planning_ on staying up on a gaming all nighter last night and *PPPBBBTTHHHT!*, nuthin.
You guys need to patch this loading problem and it needs to be the _FIRST_ thing you patch. Frankly, this is a game-nuking bug that should have been caught and fixed in QA. I'm very disappointed in you guys. You made us wait forever for the PS3 version and apparently that time was not well spent.
Here is what we suggest please update to the latest videocard and Direct X drivers. If the problem persists please let us know.

Well my copy isn't working fine at all. What don't you understand in regards to this simple fact? I paid money for something that is unplayable. It's not like I'm the first person to get pissy when it comes to this fact, there have been myriad newsposts on the very front page of penny arcade with long winded and verbose rants in respect to companies shipping broken games.
So what, because I'm one of few having the problem I should just shut up and deal with it?
When the very people that are supposed to help me are ignoring information I've provided, then tell me to do something that will not fix my problem after taking my money, it's very annoying and frustrating. I mean all they had to do was look at the dxdiag log and realize what they were suggesting was useless.
And yeah, if I buy a game and it doesn't work, I'm going to let the people know that they're going to lose business because of it. You know, in case they might care to actually sell some copies or something, it being episodic and all.
Hey guys, a few people started vacation early and some of us are filling in on the help tickets. Mark was trying to help but I can see that his suggestion was not helpful. He is not a techie and was gathering info for others not in the office.
As you can imagine, there are many computer configurations and an issue like this is new ie. it did not happen in EP1 for you and we have not had this issue in our testing. Let's see if we can track it down for you.

I come across this bug in the XBox 360 version of EP2 (downloaded from Marketplace).
Summary: The mime outfit is missing.
I loaded a completed savegame from EP1, so I was supposed to have the mime outfit. However while the statistics clipboard shows that I have 1 out of 3 outfits unlocked, the mime outfit does not show up in my collection (that is, I cannot choose to equip it).
After I beat
the Doctor and got his hunting shirt
, it shows up in my collection so I can equip it. But the mime outfit is still missing (statistics shows 2/3 unlocked). Does anyone else playing the 360 version has the same bug?

well, theres no need for me to throw my two cents in, this problem is already quite well documented as it is.
but simply because i'm bored,, i'll do just that. I am experiencing the same save load glitch on my ps3 version of ep two.
At first i was poised to play the entire episode through in one sitting, by the time I'll got to the part where you have to collect all those signatures in order, for the for the betterment of pee science,, I realized this episode seemed longer then the last.
At that time I elected my first manual save of the game,, upon return i was met with the same save load glitch that others seem to be suffering.
In honesty i'm quite relieved to learn the problem is just a glitch. At first I thought my hard drive was having issues.
anyway this is just one persons opinion but you guys do great work, not just the penny arcade staff,, but the hothead staff too! keep the paa's coming! i'm very interested to see how the story unfolds.
as for my ps3 info, it's your standard 40 gig affair, latest firmware.

I'm playing the XBox 360 version and I've run into a bug that won't let me progress any further.
I fought some baddies near the bar in the apartment building. Near the end of the fight some guy in a gray suit and black top hat appears. The first two times I tried the battle I got stuck in a selection screen (select an attack or use an item). It wouldn't get out of it. The game wasn't frozen, but it wouldn't get out of the selection screen.
The third time I actually finished the fight and before it went back to the action, the gray guy appears and then the screen froze (couldn't even get the XBox menu to appear). I did finish the match with my character dead (if that makes a difference).
I am connected to XBox Live so I should be up to date on all patches.
I'm rather enjoying the game, and it is a little frustrating that I'm stuck here. I'm going to try the fight again 1 or 2 more times to see if I can narrow down the trigger.
I tried again. This time I went around the baddies by going in close to the bar. On the other end was a sandwich that had some Fruit Fuckers in it. I fought them, then saved it. Then I engaged the baddies (can't remember what they are called) from before. During the battle the gray guy comes and the first problem I mentioned happened again (I can go to a selection screen and choose an attack or select an item to use, but it never progresses out of the selection). What seemed to happen is that the baddies just disappeared, and the guys in the suits were just walking around like nothing was happening.
I had to restart. Then I tried again. This time I investigated some doors and some pictures. Then I instigated a fight. I killed all the baddies. This time the guy in the suit did not appear and the error did not happen. I was able to progress.
I suspect my interaction with one or more of the objects (doors, pictures) might created some condition where the problem never surfaced itself.
I want to note that when I came up to the 6th floor I did not investigate any object before getting into a fight.
when xbox 360 penny arcade 2 bugs (achievement bugs) are fixed? first page was written allmost a year ago so how long i have to wait to get this game updated and working ? this collect or robot parts (or something like that) achivement dont work + game freezes if you fail final boss battle and try again..
loading times are really frustrating, no other game loads lasts this long. no offence but im dissapointed as i spent 1200 ms-points for unfinished game which doesnt work properly
