According to their website, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is now coming to GameTap on November 25th. Ah, GameTap, you didn't have to get me anything for my birthday, but you did anyway!
So to all the people who have played this game, is it any good? I heard that it was some sort of FPS/Horror/RPG hybrid, is that true? Have the major bugs been ironed out?

Guns and armor deteriorate, and the game can get very scary.

As mentioned, mods help for some of the more crabby players ;-) but you'll live without them. Not really a game to pick and play for a couple hours though, it takes some investment to get over the initial difficulty before you get to the good things that everyone is excited about.
