I have to say: de Blob for the Wii (and PC too, I guess). It just came out recently, and NO ONE is talking about it. It's a damn shame too... Because it's unique and it has amazing music.
That came out already? I loved the music in the trailer.
You will be in love with the music in the game. I can guarantee it!
Had a nice online community for a long time. Played for years as it dwindled.
Also, editing/scripting custom maps and game types for it basically got me really into computers/programming, and hence into my Computer/Electrical engineering BS degrees (+working on my MS in Computer Science) and my current job making cool stuff for the government. So that's neat too.
That game had such a cool backstory, too. Hella scientists transferring their brains into machines, hella machines invading earth n' shit.

I made a game! Hotline Maui. Requires mouse and keyboard.
bland first person robot shooting? check. Ugly first-generation PSOne graphics? check. Horrible American voice dubbing? check. Cheesy plot involving a mad scientist? check.
But goddamnit I love a game where you're part of a badass team of Mech pilots and each one is independently searching a huge underground instalation on the moon and you can radio any of them to ask them questions.

I don't know if I loved Bourne: The Conspiracy, but I had a lot of fun with it. Except the driving level, that was a poorly designed part of the game, just terrible.
The martial arts were the best part of it all for me. I especially liked how it seamlessly worked with the gunplay. The contextual take-downs and combo moves which worked within certain situations also looked totally awesome!
There could have been a different, more original approach to the game however, rather than the typical action/shooter that is so common and predictable. I agree and understand why Matt Damon disassociated himself from the game entirely. If there was any real consideration put into the game, it could have, should have had, the spy elements that made the movies so great, and not just another movie-game formula. Supposedly that is why Mr. Damon was not involved with the game, and I'm glad he stood up on that issue instead of just cashing in.
Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain for the PC. I got it for about 3Euro in a second hand shop and it was pretty damn good. Fully customisable races and ships, well ahead of it's time.

I think Psi-Ops was one of the very best games of the last generation. It was a nearly perfect execution of the idea. I couldn't play Force Unleashed, because it felt like a bad alpha of Psi-Ops from a power-control perspective.
Actually, I was really pumped for TFU under the presumption that it was going to be like Psi-Ops but with euphoria and awesome production values.
Guardian Legend doesn't get as much attention as it should. That was easily one of the best NES games of all time; it was three games in one for crying out loud. Nintendo needs to hurry up and put it on VC.

Three games? I can name two (vertical shmup and top-down action/adventure) but what's the third?
Also, I agree with it being one of the best NES games out there. I fucking LOVE the music and art and the fact that it was so goddamn hard.
Came out in 2000, nothing like dorky, gyrocopter flying MECCs mixed with hot half naked Sea Reapers all fighting for the same scrap of land with Kabuto running around smashing.. KABUTO SMASH FACE!
We fired this up at PAX this last August and LAN'd it quite a bit for nostalgic purposes.

I got Giants: Citizen Kabuto as a pack in with like my GPU in like 2002 and the installer never worked, when I called the company they told me there was nothing they could do. So I never got a chance to try it.

RPG. Not a true RPG, but pretty close. Especially back in those days.

That's what I loved about Blaster Master on the NES, vehicular platforming and top down shooting... Thank you.

I bought this game for 3 dollars in a pawn shop.
I was surprised to find it was actually a pretty awesome game with great shooting, fun vehicles, and a decent run of missions.

P.N.03 all the way. This game should have gotten so much more love.
Also, Hybrid Heaven. More games need to follow this example of how to make an awesome battle system.
It was not.

I get all nostalgic for Tetrisphere. Just for the music.
One of the only game soundtracks I have on CD.
