Underrated titles in general that you loved thread

My wife, a non-gamer of the highest order, actually has a soft spot for one game and one game only.
Next Tetris on the PS1.
When she found out I could play the disc in my PS3, she took the controller from my hand and zoned out for a while. Now, I have to keep the disc near the PS3, just in case.
I keep hearing about this game so $5.75 on Ebay brand new including shipping. I keep telling myself I'm helping the economy when I buy a game I've never played ...
I'm helping the economy ...
LIZ: Different.
VOICE-OVER: It's September 24th, I'm Liz Parker and five days ago I died. But then the really amazing thing happened. I came to life.
Its just a very wacky little game. Its structure is so random. I just recently found out that the European version has dialogue removed. The levels are really inventive and the game really pushed the Megadrive hard, graphically.
Certainly not the best platformer but still a damn good game nonetheless.
This is indeed fan-fucking-tastic. I can't believe it's not been shown any love.
Though that last boss was bullshit, pure luck decided if you could beat him.
Celeste [Switch] - She'll be wrestling with inner demons when she comes...
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age [Switch] - Sit down and watch our game play itself
Thats a steal for that price, its fun, addictive, and damn funny, especially when you play with friends.
What? No, you're not. I still think all of the NES Megaman games are awesome (except 1). Sure, 5 handed out E-tanks and 1-ups like candy on Halloween, but it was still enjoyable.
Of course, I might be *cough*sig*cough* biased.
I loved this game, played the shit out of it. Although....I don't think I ever beat it.
Yeah, I'm going to a very special circle of hell for typing that
It was tedious at times, what with all that relevelling of skills to have more powerful charge attacks, but the music and the atmosphere the game created were really second to none. Plus, I'm just a sucker for any game that has an AI dog follow you around. I just hope my little cartridge holds out a fair bit longer, since I doubt SoE was popular enough to get the remake/rerelease treatment that other Square RPGs are getting on VC/DS.
E.V.O. The Search for Eden
Vandal Hearts I and II
Azure Dreams
Beyond Oasis
What? It was really good.
It was sexy good.
My inductee for the list...
My description for the game is always the same. No other game makes you feel like such a badass. Jump on an alien's back, snap his neck, and ride his corpse to the ground in slow motion, while shooting his two buddies in the head? Yea, you can do that.

So curious about this game but reviews are so across the board ...

Granted, 5 was the only Mega Man game I owned as a kid, and X1-3 are the only other ones I got to play heavily.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Because it was in a lot of ways, a buggy mess. If you drop the Lift power, though, and stick with the other, far cooler powers, most of the bugs went away. The camera issues most folks had was because objects broken with Lift tended to leave a marker where they were destroyed. And the reticle would stay locked on there. As would the camera. This would also cause the game to randomly crash.
Without Lift, though, the game was a total blast. And Lift was only fun right after you got it... after that, boring.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. God I loved that game. I loved the art direction, the battle system, the fact that if you abused of your godly powers your body would just give up, the story, everything! I'm sad that it did so badly. People assume it'll be just another jRPG so when they try it they are turned off right away.
I keep finishing the intro sequence and stop, afraid that the rest of the game will be horrible. I think the furthest I got was to the second boss.
God damn this game makes you feel like a total badass even before you get mind powers.
Not enough :^:'s in the world.
wait a game like this exists i never heard of it before !!!
Great game, if anyone knows any other games similar to it I'll have your babies.
An SRPG that isn't turn based! Another game I'd kill for more of. The N64 one was fun but no substitute. Give me a DS port with touch screen controls.
LoL: BunyipAristocrat
Though fuck, the anime is, if you skip the first episode like I was told to, the BEST THING EVER.
I have to do this. To Goozex!
I guess I'm lumping it into this thread because I bought it for like $2 new, but Elemental Gimmick Gear for the Dreamcast was pretty rad. The 3D fights were kinda dumb and I'm pretty sure I couldn't beat the final boss because I was missing some item, but I dug the rest of it.
dream a little dream or you could live a little dream
sleep forever if you wish to be a dreamer
Really?
I think the PR and Clive Barker's name made reviewers expect something else. But as soon as I saw the leather and chrome outfits and started using the under-slung shotgun on my assault rifle, I knew I was in for a good time.
Eternal Darkness is not underrated.
Also, Advent Rising has a power called Timeshift. This makes you move so quickly that it looks like you're teleporting. The end of the move is a punch to your target's face.
So you teleport to a guy, punch him in the face, and he flies backward.
And usually dies. :^:

people hate these games.
I fucking love these games.
therefore, down with people.
/me forgets about breast physics, possibly forever.
That's some quality objectification.
Such an awesome game. In high school, my best friend and I would rock this shit for hours, completely unaware of how much time had passed.
I still play this one every now and then. Such an awesome game.
Props also, to Secret of Evermore. Just a few days ago, I was listening to the final boss theme from this.
3d arena fighting with magic powers. Magic powers that equal out to "rock paper scissors" except you stack them 3 at a time and launch them at a friend's face. He can either try to fire back an attack, block, deflect, or dodge. So much fun. I hear it's a lot like Power Stone, but I've never played that. Imagine ps1 Phantom Dust but with RPS instead of cards.
Also, Advent Rising was amazing, and it kills me that we won't be seeing the sequels. Although when I play Mass Effect I secretly pretend I'm Playing Advent Rising: The RPG.
3DS: 1521-4165-5907
PS3: KayleSolo
Live: Kayle Solo
WiiU: KayleSolo
I see your Destrega, (which was all kinds of awesome) and raise you
It looked amazing for a PS1 title, plus you get to play as a fucking dragon, in a fighting game!
Spoilered for complete rapage of everything.
There was some really amazing work that came out of the community that went so far above and beyond the tools that were provided. Some really creative people and some really great times. The community still survives to this day, rating levels that are created by players.
Oh, and did I mention some of the most fun 2-d platforming multiplayer to be found anywhere? Co-op included, even the ability to play on your own maps, which was just awesome for when this game came out. One of Epic's best games of all time, along with Shogun I believe.
I'll call your game (which I never played but sounds awesome) with
OMEGA BOOST.
Load this badboy up, what do you get? Static-X on the title menu. Followed by cheesy metal as a live action scene of a guy loading into a mech plays. Then you travel through time. Then you play the best shooter on the ps1.
Yeah, Omega Boost was the first game that I decided to import (at the time I didn't know a U.S. release was on the way) and loved every second of it. Never did finish it, though.
The single most glorious RTS ever conceived. No micromanagement, no unit control, only you and your cash bribes.
On the other hand, Armed and Dangerous (xbox) features total destruction, with wonky weapons such as the Miniature Black Hole Creator and the Ground Shark Launcher.
