Theres no reason Fallout 3 can't have good animations.
Every single old man is still voiced by the same guy and you can really tell.
edit: should just have made it one character that followed you around
It's true. That's really the only really noticeable one, besides generic townsfolk, they did a really good job differentiating voices, even though you can tell they're the same people if you listen closely.
But yeah, they needed another old man. That one squeaky-voiced guy was overworked.
Why cant gears of war be open ended in a massive environment?
You know what, fuck it. Fallout 3 has good animations. Ive seen worse in less ambitious games.
It's interesting to think about what would happen if, say, Bethesda and Epic teamed up to make an RPG. Or Bioware and Crytek. We need to get these RPG people more in touch with the technological side of things.

i've got no complaints about any of the other one, except one or two storyline characters but thats down to personal preference. But i mean, tenpenny towers alone has the dude voicing two guys?
It would be very very pretty. Imagine the lightsabers in a Crytek engine? You could feel the warmth of the laser glow eminating off your widescreen as the fps grinds to a slow screenshot haul.
Man, I beat the game at level 11. I can't even begin to comprehend how the game plays at level 20
Is it just me or is it always good to have a high INT for skill point bonuses? That level 11 character had like 4 skills capped out at 100 (Small Guns, Repair, Medicine and Energy Weapons). The last part of the game was a fucking breeze with fully repaired Power Armor and a plasma rifle and the 900 some microfusion cells I had been collecting since
Raven Rock.
EDIT: Also, does anyone know what the colored keycards are for?
I hit 20 cause like after I did some stuff at Megaton I spent about a day IRL just wandering around in the wastes and exploring, and in the course of that killed the hell out of a lot of stuff.
Fighting fire ants is amazing, because your usual strategy with enemies is to hide in cover and back yourself into walls and blast when the enemy comes around a corner. But with fire ants, you want open spaces, long distances between you and them. Also, fucking frenzied ants flaming cars and they explode.
This game is just immense.
Im constantly amazed by how much Bethseda has improved over Oblivion, im really impressed that they actually took the criticism to heart and improved every conveivable aspect of the gameplay from their previous game. I really respect this.
I don't know - I just snuck around and one-shotted most of them with a laser pistol.

One-shotted? I played this when i was level 3, are you talking about fire-ants? You oneshotted the soldiers and warriors?
I am interested in some kind of list of skills required to get all the game content, with as minor spoilers as possible. As far as I can tell:
Explosives: 25% needed for a quest in Megaton. Needed to disarm mines and explosive traps.
Lockpicking: 75% needed for very hard locks
Science: 75% for very hard terminals, possibly more needed for quests?
Barter: Completely optional
Speech: Needed for several quest endings, maximum value needed unknown.
Repair: 30% needed for a quest in Megaton, higher values needed for later quests. Needed to disarm mechanical traps.

I found shooting them in the head to be A LOT more effective than their armored torso. half of them I'd just wait for them to spin around and start walking to me before I used VATS. If, and only if, I couldn't get a clean headshot from cover. I didn't bother with the antenna on most of them because the hit chance was low and they were far enough away I wasn't worried about fire.

They were perfect for the Rock-It launcher because if I could see them I pretty much had an 85% chance on their head.
It would be pretty nice if someone could confirm if taking "Here and Now" at level 20 would grant a 21st level. I wouldn't waste a perk to get a level I could just get through my regular business, but if it's a SOOPER SEKRET LEVEL, then hell, that would be awesome.

Not sure if this has been posted or known but if you buy a nuka-cola vending machine for your swinging pad you
you can store your found nukas in it and it will chill them which then in turn gives you +25 healing powers! Because we all know tepid soda sucks.
On a side note two questions.. Is there any vendor that sells bobypins? Also say I reach 100 in small guns but haven't taken a perk that gives + to small guns will it go over 100 or is it a wasted perk?

It will be wasted
Thats why you should only take your stats to 9 also
nope, but did you go down to the sewers? There's a bobblehead there, i think. well worth the trouble. though the deathclaws are some of the mostr difficult baddies in the game. died so many times in there

There's also a set of experimental power armor, that automatically applies stimpacks when you get injured, in the sewers. Pretty cool.
But yeah, that place is hell on earth. Deathclaws are just as tough as in the originals, they'll rape your face off.

I spent my first eight or ten hours of the game talking to people with my fists balled up like I was ready to sock them in the jaw. I only found out how to holster/sheath my weapons by complete accident.

Yeah, they said it's probably coming in 2010. So probably 1 or 2 Fallout expansions still. And they've said there will be another Fallout before, uh, 2018.

I was gonna get this on 360 but I've heard rumors of crashes. Is this a common problem? I experienced the GTAIV crash madness aswell, remember it taking weeks to finish it just because I could only play about 30 minutes straight - once a day. That's the only game I've had a problem with so far, Dead Space runs like a wet dream etc...
So does the 360 version have GTAIV mad crash habits?

I'm about 5 hours in and no crashing so far. I don't know if it gets worse further in, though.

Knights of the Old Republic: Nabboo Crysis.

What a worthless argument. Fallout 3 is a good game. It does not have good animations.
I need someone to uncap the levels for me
I'm like 25% of the way through the plot and I'm level 20. Yes, I can explode heads from a million miles away, but I want to be better.

I've got a spare copy of Portal, if anyone wants it message me.

The worst part is the loading screens that show the xp bar.

...so what you're telling me is, this will be easy to fix :P

In the meantime, I need to continue avoiding this thread... It is so damn tempting to click on spoiler tags.

Anyone feel like updating the list?

I stress were.
He may be factoring in the bonuses you will get for finding all the skillbooks. If that's the case, waste to put more than 75 points there.
any survivors?
