Seriously though she seems like the worst commando unit. Apart from anything else, when I used her in the campaign she only seemed to attack enemies when I targeted them manually or used attack-move, and otherwise she'd just stand there and get shot. Dunno why.
I believe she has the shortest range which makes sense considering she packs dual desert eagles, but the key to Tanya is getting her in close to the front line or deep into the enemy base undetected, protected or somehow without coming under heavy fire from afar. Then she is terrifyingly effective.
Tanya totally destroys bases. I think she's the only commando to be able to take out a Super Reactor without killing herself. And the fact that paradropping her into a base is so easy because Centuries are so sturdy. Or IFV her in. Or .. that amphibious transport her in.. Or chronosphere her in.. And personally I think she's the best anti-vehicle too. There's nothing more terrifying than seeing a Tanya drop down next to your MCV. She runs fast. And she's invulnerable while inside something blowing it up. And I feel she's the best anti-infantry as well.

the best is chrono switching a dog thats in your enemies base for tanya
also tanya will beat natasha everytime in a duel if you use the belt at the right time

She kind of sucks for countering lots of infantry, because she has to get in range of their weapons to fire. As a result she'll die more easily then any other commando. Like others have said I feel she is definately the best commando for completely destroying a base if you can sneak her in (and Allies have so many options for doing so)
Unfortunately a real patch. Probably making plenty of balance changes. We'll see.
Truth be told, the game is very well balanced as is. I would not want any major gameplay changes at all. Would you?
The only thing I want is for automatch not to suck.
<edit> And yeah, Zante. That is indeed a very entertaining replay. Some vicious flak trooper drops. Some vicious cryocopter/vindi collector sniping. God I hate the allies haha. I was cheering for the soviets that whole time. I bet that naval yard was JUST out of range of that V4. And like somebody in the comments said, mistakes made by both sides. Dolphins were away from the 2 naval buildings, and the sov player should've brought 2 engies when he had the chance.
Also the Allied player could've easily juggled enemy Akula fire by alternating black hole armor ADs. Instead he lost one or two. And he didn't care to fix some of his aircraft.
And the whole thing in the beginning where everybody builds like 10 dogs/bears.. I don't fucking understand that.. Why do they bother doing it? It certainly wasn't to get the oil. Nobody even made an attempt to get the oil (the Sov should've gotten it easily with his chopper drops and momentary air-superiority). But no. They just smash wave after wave of bears/infantry into eachother. I dunno. Maybe I'm missing something. Why not do a standard Hammer/Flak army? Hammers can take out garrisoned structures with the leech beam without being in range, and flaks will punish any Vindis that want to take out the Hammers. And Hammers can run over any infantry or blow away any vehicles that tries to take out the flaks.

Well, yes, they could SLIGHTLY tweak some Empire things. Their turrets need to deploy a little faster. Their power plant/refinery needs to be cheaper or give a little more power. Their Tengus need a very slight buff in anti-air. Their VXs need a very slight buff in hp perhaps.. I don't know about messing with that. Changing it from 2 Vindis to take out a VX to 3 Vindis.. that's a pretty big change. You're essentially giving them +50%hp. Might make Vindis useless once they have 2 or more VXs. It's a very touchy subject.

The reason to have bear wars is simply to deny scouting opportunities. Allies are a bit op right now because neither empire/sov have an effective counter to peacekeepers+vindis. Vindicators just have too much health + incredible speed. One or the other needs to be nerfed. Plus bear are so important for soviets to take out infantry which enemies almost always have.

I got the 360 demo and was completely justified for thinking that RTS games can not work on consoles.
I wanna hear why. Out of curiosity.
The controls are just too hard to use. There was no way to make groups of units that I could tell unless it was a very hidden feature not listed in the controls. If I wanted to select a group of units and have them attack one target while another groups attacks a different target it took so long that both targets were usually dead by that time anyways. Moving long distances around the map was pretty difficult, there is probably some way to bring up the map and move around using that but I couldn't find out how.
I am not sure if it was my TV or the low resolution on the game but I had trouble telling units apart, most of the infantry looks the same especially the enemies. Trying to use the superweapons is pretty difficult in the middle of a fight too, since I have to open up the menu, back out of my unit menu which then brings me to the main command menu, select super weapons, select the weapon and then place it. I am sure I could get quick at doing that but it just seems so inefficient on a controller, I could get four times as much commanding done in the same amount of time with a keyboard and mouse.
Snofeld what you were saying about Tanya in the campaign, I think the reason she stands there is that she doesn't seem to default to the right stance. I had the same problem - just switched to defensive stance and she shot all those fools.

I dunno... I just liked American Eva more then British Eva. Mostly because the uniform was more proper instead of low- (blouse) and high- (miniskirt) cut.

I think it fits in more with the style of this game, which is fairly ridiculous. I think the whole mood of the game is summed up by Tim Curry saying "Do you like the pretty girls?"

I think the only international law in RA3 is 'women are prohibited from buttoning up their jacket's top button'.
It must be in the Geneva Convention or something...

I think you're right. It's not distracting me that much from enjoying the over the top zaniness of the game.
Ok, so I'm playing through the campaigns in order (sort of) and I'm at the point where the Allies (me) and Soviets team up against Japan. I finished the Soviet campaign though and... how do the Allies retain their Chrono technology? I thought that the main thing from Einstein was the Chronosphere (and the prism/spectra towers and the weather control device and the gap generators...)
I probably shouldn't really be asking these questions or caring about these sort of things, should I?

In this timeline they're not invented by Einstein, but a private corporation. It's why it's not called a Prism tower (right? I can't remember) but is basically the same thing. Plus the cryocopter etc.
Personally out of all the women that were supposed to be "doing it" for me, I found Lissette to be the best of them all, and was kind of bummed that she was there only for a few missions. Would've liked to have her as my co-allied commander through all of the allied missions... then all of the Soviet and Japanese missions as well. Not only is she my kind of "hot", she also did the acting very well, without trying to hog the spotlight or make herself stand out (which would ruin it since the character was not meant for it).
century and an apollo hit the super reactor, tiny bit of health left. Surgical strike finishes off reactor, tesla coil goes offline just as tanya lands. Goodbye MCV.
