I don't know, Tesla troopers are a great AD/Apoc/Oni counter, keep them close to your own tanks or infantry and activate the secondary if the other guy trys to run you over, even works on charging Onis.
The only time i see tesla troopers used is against Onis, i just think they should have more use than that... especially against T2 units because well tesla troopers are tier 2 units
Ya Tesla's are too expensive for how slow and ineffective they are in most cases. You are better off building hammer tanks and using them to clear infantry(run them over with treads=game over).
i dont think tesla troopers are meant to be a counter to infantry, they are supposed to be used as a tank counter which right now they are pretty bad at.... because they are so slow any good player is never going to let you use the teslas secondary on their tanks.
Ya I didn't make myself clear. Tesla troopers suck against infantry and are ok against vehicles. Hammer tanks can take out both.
Just had some really good games, really... was on a really long loss streak and finally broke it, now on a win streak of 4 games. Finally got a build list that works well vs soviet, I think.

want to test it on me? i dont think i have played you yet apzoerunner
edit: also played a 40 minute ranked game just a little while ago, it got down to the point where our nodes were depleted i had leveled his main base and he had leveled mine and we were just throwing scraps at eachother
Wow. This game just feels amazing. Fan-fucking-tastic.
Question though... My previous RTS mainstays are CoH and W3... in w3 there's a huge emphasis in microing units out of battle... so when an archer takes aggro you move him back so the aggro is dumped to a unit with full health.
That almost seems outta the question here... but do people do that?

yeah you will see that in tank battles, if your enemy is targeting one of your hammertanks its smart to put it into leech beam mode and reserve move it
also you see this a lot with empire players, for example early game an empire player is going tengu harass and you are playing soviets and have a couple sickles out by the time your opponent gets some tengus in your base... if the empire player as good micro he will transform his mecha tengus that go into the red into jet tengus thus not being able to take damage from the sickles and able to retreat it back to base for repairs
This game is pretty simplistic compared to most RTS games (simple economy, no upgrades, no building structures for supply) although it provides depth with each unit having a secondary ability that will drastically change the unit (some units dont like air superiority fighters)
Haven't had a chance yet; to be honest, I'm still honing my 1v1 strategies, and have mostly been playing 2v2 with my friend Dan. He's not very good, though, which means I'm losing just as much as I'm winning.
Well... it's different in the sense that it requires a ton of micro management when compared to other C&Cs. But you don't have to play as competitively as pogo and I do.
Speaking of which, wanna play pogo? You still there?
It's about 68 degrees here. It was actually almost uncomfortably warm this afternoon.
yeah it was about 4 degrees when i drove home from work here in iowa and feels like -10 with the wind
Actually I've been there. My dad's family lives in Manchester.
It was a long time ago but sometimes I can still feel the cold. Man, that was cold.
I went to undergrad in Iowa (go Cyclones!), grew up in Omaha. I went back over Thanksgiving for the first time since I moved to California and bitched about the weather nonstop for a week, and it was only in the 30s. Now it's like 5 degrees there. I would just die. I wear a hoodie when it drops below 75 here.
Anyone seen any good custom maps yet? The mod community for C&C3 / Generals was pretty rockin', I have high hopes.

i havent seen any good custom maps, but then again i havent been looking.
I just bought the Premiere Edition. It came with freebies!
Item for WAR, Music DVD (Yay!) And a bonus dvd with Red Alert 2 on it!
Plus.. it came in a shiny tin. Shiiiiny.
I'm really struggling with this game. I'm having a hard time balancing between economy and building forces.
Tengu rushes are what get me most times. Any easy solutions?
I play soviet and they just fly in, drop and kill my harvester as fast as possible. Then they just harass from the water to distract me. Does the cocoon thing it can do provide any help?
I did have an awesome comeback game where I got rolled off of land by Apocs and then managed to use sea expansion to build twin-blades. It was my first RA3 win!

Some of the other guys will surely have better ideas on how to counter a tengu rush than this but I have ok luck cranking out 4-5 flak troopers early. They'll get a few shots off before the tengus land and then you can switch them to mines and watch them die valiantly.
And yeah, the Soviet harvester secondary bumps their survivability up by quite a lot. If you have a crane up you could probably build a warfac and crank out a hammer before 2 tengus can kill your harv.
Posts
edit: oh and yeah that wall with the turret on one node and the crusher crane on the other was very effective against tier 1 harrass
edit: oh it's a beta
Is Red Alert better? It sure looks like it.
oh i thought it was a dog

I guess it's a good thing I'm not in charge of anything.

I got Premier Edition too, and yes, there's a code.
It's certainly not for Tiberium, we know that now. My guess? Generals 2.
