Don't remember much about it, but here's what I've got:
The main character sees a program on late night TV, it's a game show with lizards wearing duck masks and answering trivia
He finds the lizards, they all live on a mobile island, all of them have the same name, (Frank, I think..)
They all wear watches that are nothing more than a rock strapped to their wrist.
