That's only studio costs. That's the outside number. It costs 500 pounds a day and I'm not going to wait until I have the full amount, so once I have five hundred I will make between one and three tracks.
Are you recording on the moon? Does that include rocket fuel cost?
My boss runs a recording studio that charges £30/hour. Of course, that's in Edinburgh so it might as well be on the moon I guess.
We should talk about CD reproduction and packaging. I can get you some good prices.
Bloody hell, we got two days for about £350 and are having four days up in Gateshead for.. around £700-800 I think.
Also I'm curious to hear Tube's music.
I heard it's all slash metal covers of Disney Channel musicals. I sure would like a link to confirm/deny.
Also, yes Tube appears to be over-paying for studio costs. But I guess that's what happens when you absolutely must record your debut album at Abbey Road.

30 pounds an hour for 12 hours is 360 pounds, so it's not a hugely out there price. It also includes the producer and engineer and I know the producer and he's very good. I've looked at some cheaper places but I've really not been satisfied with the quality. I can use my current producer for free and have a great, free album done in three bloody years.
Any help you could give me with the mechanicals would be awesome, I haven't costed that yet.

Actually Abbey Road runs to roughly four times that.

What sort of quantity and packaging type (Jewel case, slim line case, cardboard sleeve with plastic tray etc.) are you looking for?
I think jewel cases would be fine. If the budget for the album was the maximum (12 days) I'd need to sell 600 copies at 10 pounds each to break even. I imagine printing at least 500 would probably be a plan.

I love that you've checked.
I have a friend who literally recorded his first demo at Abbey Road. He is a fucking idiot.
This isn't my first time at the races. I've recorded a lot. The reason I know this studio is because I've played session there many times. I know the sound quality I want and I know a reasonable price to achieve said quality. I know that there are cheaper places but there aren't cheaper places with producers I trust and where I can be assured of the sound quality.

Ok, well bear in mind that if your studio costs are £6k then you'll also have the cost of x number of CDs on top of that, so you'd need to sell a bit more than 600 to break even once that's factored in as well. I'll get you a few prices though.
tube who would you list as your musical influences
Eric Roche, Rufus Wainright, Eddie Vedder, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Alice Cooper
Are we talking young angry Ten and Vs. Eddie Vedder or the more subdued introspective Eddie of Yield and Binaural.
Also what is the max/min number of snakes you have on stage with you at any given time, the answer to this question may very well infulence how much I donate to your cause.

To me Eddie Vedder died in a horrible accident right after the recording of Vs
hey Tube
I have a proposition
while I'm not willing to donate to your cause directly at this time, I would be willing to offer myself up to be jailed in exchange for someone making a small donation in my stead

You should feel honored, because your tied with me witnessing a dwarvish like wheelchair bound man dig cake and poop out of his ass and eating it.
Coincidentally, we're doing a special on those this month. Very popular around christmas time.

Not trying to hijack this, but I might be interested in that too.

I'm fucking volunteering for it so no one could complain that it's unfair
oh, but I guess I can see the conflict of interest so never mind
It takes precisely one person to complain and I'm out, and someone complains to Robert about pretty much everything I do.
Its cute that you call him "Robert".
Hamlet will be Hamlet
An ineffable tragedy of the human spirit that still resonates, even today.
