Pretty great week!
The
NDS gets the
Korg DS-10 synthesizer app, finally! Hopefully! If it actually comes out this week!
NDS also gets
Dragon Ball Origins, which looks pretty good, and the excellent game
Exit.
The
AC/DC track pack for Rock Band comes out for a few systems this week, too
PS3 gets
Resistance 2, sequel to the awesome Insomniac-developed FPS original.
PS3 also gets
Valkyria Chronicles, which
is fantastic
not to be outdone,
Xbox 360 gets Gears of War 2, sequel to the megahit third person shooter.
And
nearly every system gets some version of
Tom Clancy's EndWar. and also
Quantum of Solace.
I just bought Guitar Hero WT Bundle last week, so my gaming $ is spent for a while; plus I'm pretty busy for the next two months and so won't be buying many games. Although I really want to.

This being said, it's also a bad time to be a broke ass gamer. I plan on picking up Resistance 2 and looking forward to online co-op
Thats funny because I remember saying the complete opposite....and..look where we are now, having to get a game or two every goddamn week...hoping it can happen, I remember last year thinking "oh man...5 games in 3 months? How will I ever do this?" AND NOW LOOK AT WHAT THIS SHIT HAS FUCKING COME TO!
I couldn't have been more wrong
It seems like it has gotten decent reviews... I hear loading is about the only issue.
Could? Could? More like is. More like is fantastic.
The Wii lineup for this week looks fucking terrible. I'm not too sure if I'll be buying anything for the Wii this fall. I'm really sad at this.
I'm pretty sure it should actually ship this week, at least if you order it from a place that is likely to sell the game (like Amazon).
A lot of actual retailers, like Gamestop/EB, are refusing to stock and sell the game. And so you'll probably have a hard time finding it at any B&M store. Maybe Fry's will have it.

But then next week there's Mirror's Edge...
With that in mind, I think I might go ahead and also buy the Korg DS software. Where is it being carried? I'm assuming Amazon has it? I get the feeling this is the kind of thing that if I don't buy now, it's going to be a bitch and a half to track down once it disappears.
Oh, and someone in the Rock Band thread mentioned that the AC/DC Track Pack is now only $29.99 at rockband.com instead of $39.99. It's still too much for me, but if you're going to get it, at least save 10 bucks.
Badly, apparently. Eurogamer review can't slate it fast enough.
KorgDS will probably end up being one of the hardest games to find in the US that actually gets an official release here. It'll be like electroplankton difficult to find, except probably more rare.
According to their site, Amazon.com should have it.

I have an import copy of Electroplankton, so I was able to get mine pretty easily. I'm of two minds about Korg DS, though. It looks intriguing, but even though I'm a bedroom-studio kind of guy I'm complete rubbish when it comes to software tools and sequencers like this. It might be too much to try and figure out, but on the other end it might be nice to have something portable and easy to tinker around with so that I can actually learn how to use it.
Wow, this is hard . Anyone want to do the other systems? He uses gamestop pictures/info.
Also Legendary sounds rather unexciting.
Resistance 2 and Valkryia Chronicles AND Naruto?
Seriously, world. Rape my wallet.
Do I support the PS3's premiere FPS franchise? The scrappy but innovative SRPG? Or that anime masquerading as a gorgeous fighter?
WHAT DO I DO.
Yes, but Eurogamer also eats catshit for breakfast.
It has a 78% on Gamerankings, which is usually the point all Bond games end up being around.
Or if you're not so intent on the voracious consumption of content, you'll be sliding a bunch of this stuff into 2009 to cover any gaps in the release schedule next year.

Horde mode sounds like the bastard love child of Geometry Wars and the cabin scenes from RE4, and it's no small reason of why I'm picking up the game at launch. Prince of Persia looks sinfully good, and it pains me but I'm going to have to delay that one until after the holidays and I play what's on my plate now, or at least until I go through Mirror's Edge for my jumping-and-running fix.
Plus my major problem with Gears 1 was that the level design just didn't seem as good as RE4 or Half-Life 2. All of the reviews I've read so far have said that the level design in Gears 2 is substantially better than the first game so that pleases me greatly.
So Mother 3 & Banjo Nuts & Bolts this month, Gears 2 & Persona 4 next month, and then pick up the games I want but lack the money for at various times throughout the next year. Looks like I've got a lot of fun ahead of me.

I had a blast back in the day with in on the N64
Damn, that might be a "must buy". I liked second offense but the original might of been better.
Also, Korg DS. I have 2 pre-ordered with 1 day shipping. I don't regret this decision at all.

I have this feeling COD5 won't be as good as COD4 from what I've heard about the beta.
Edit: It pisses me off how the guns in R2 and COD5 sound like peashooters. Sound is so integral to immersing the player in the game, and it's why R1 never captivated me. Besides the sound, the gameplay and graphics look amazing.
Good man, you've got your priorities right.
Unless you like shooters.
