I've played Final Fantasy VI once. I never got past Ultros, and simply didn't pick it back up. I've never beaten it, one of the few Final Fantasy games I haven't finished. Actually, it's the only Final Fantasy I haven't spent time on, essentially.
I'm really excited about this release, though. I'll finally be able to dedicate the time to this, and finally see what the hype has been about for all of these years. :^:

So I totally did not know that this game came out next week. When I got the Nintendo newsletter in my email that told me this I actually gasped. An honest to god gasp.
I don't know if this has been answered or dwelled upon, but why aren't they bringing something like this to the DS? FFIII was successful on DS, why not do it with VI?

Yeah, I think if FFVII were to come out on the PSP, I would try to get a 2nd hand PSP, or something.
However, word is on 1UP, that FFVII won't be getting remade for the PSP. So, who knows? :?

Blocking out FFVIII would be a crime against humanity. I don't care what anyone (everyone, actually) says, that's my favorite FF right there. And YES, I've played all of them now.
Anywho, the more I think about this game, the more excited I get. I remember a time when everyone thought "Man, wouldn't it be awesome if the FF games could go portable?". And now, here we are, every pre-PS Final Fantasy now playable anywhere. What an awesome time we live in.
Sorry bout that, it was a type. I didnt realize I omitted FFVIII from there especially considering that its my favorite of the three PS games. FFVII is one of my least liked FF games, closely followed by FFX and X-2. My favorite would have to be FFVI which has me really excited for its re-release this week!

Probobly because it fits the GBA's capabilities just fine and they don't want to release it just for DS users when there are more GBA users out there (I assume anyway). And it's not like they have to redo any of the graphics or sound for it to still look/sound great. Though I admit the sound quality has dropped slightly, it's still not a big deal for me.
Well seeing as Sony are going to start releasing ps1 games for the ps3 so that you can jigg them over to your psp to play, I doubt ff7 is really going to get ignored (ppl have already done it less than legally I am told) so what does square have to gain by remaking the game for either platform? they can just say "hey! what do you mean remake? its already available on those systems, only $10 for it! bargain!"
no updated graphics, same shoddy pal conversion/translation and unfinished side quests, but hey, its ff7!
I would really just see a PS1 era collection, like the did with the SNES collections.
Well, since Sony is rolling out PS1 games on the PS3 to play on your PSP (decipher that lineage, eh?), I'd be really surprised if they relinquish control of the coveted FF7, polarizing FF8 and underappreciated FF9. (Strictly IMO.) Whatever system gets an FF7 remake will essentially win whatever category it sits in, and S-E knows this.
Anyway, my body aches for this game. Literally, my yearning is creating sores and lesions on my body. I am going to buy this and spend all of my time at work playing this on my Micro in my cube.
How much control over 7 does Sony actually have, though? I mean jeeze, you'd think Square wouldn't have been that stupid to give them complete control over it.
