So, I haven't read many comics lately, but I'm thinking of getting into some Deadpool. Where should I begin? Has Deadpool got his own series of comics in the Ultimate universe yet?
No and for good reason, Ultimate Deady sucks. The Deapool series is generally fantastic in the beggining and at the end with some stand-out issues admist the less than stellar middle. I'd suggest you read some Cable and Deadpool to see if you like the character before looking for his series, it's also much easier to find.
Ultimate Deadpool apparently sucks because he doesn't make fifty jokes a minute also fourth wall etc. I liked him, though. BUT FEAR NOT, IF IT'S GOOFY DEADPOOL YOU'RE HERE FOR YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE! TAKE IT AWAY, FANBOYS!

I hated Ultimate Deadpool for more reasons than just him not being funny. His absolute hatred for mutants was completely out of character(it was almost completely "I SMOLDER WITH GENERIC RAGE! GRRRR!!!) and horribly written(even for Bendis). I enjoyed some aspects of Ultimate Deadpool's character, like his tricks with the cloaker and the kickass costume(mostly Bagley's doing), but otherwise he's a character without any of the soul of the 616 counterpart and a failure in my eyes.
They're reprinting the first few Cable/Deadpool trades soon, so those will be easy to get ahold of. There's also some speculation that the old Deadpool solo series, which was probably the best the character's ever been, might be getting a reprint soon, since Ed McGuinness did some of his first work on that series, and he'll soon be pumping out some more stuff for them, as he signed an exclusive contract with them some months back.
Otherwise, just dig around online or at your local comic shop for old Joe Kelly/Gail Simone Deadpool issues or Agent X. Avoid the Deadpool stuff that Christopher Priest wrote.
As for who Agent X is, all you need to know is that his name's Alex and he possesses a healing ability similar to Deadpool's. In the first issue he turns up on the doorstep of a young woman named Sandy, who happens to be dating the world-famous henchman trainer Taskmaster. With the greatest teacher in the world available to him, he becomes a mercenary and generally gets into assorted silly situations.

Agent X, from what I was told, is from a brief period where Marvel didn't own the licensing for Deadpool and didn't want to pay for more.
So they made a character that was almost exactly like him in every way.

Something something they had to pay the creator something something they didn't have the rights.
All of this is hearsay.

I'd have liked some explanation as to the benefit of replacing your face with a plastic mask.
Helmet. He's a cyborg and it keeps his brain inside. It's pretty straightforward.
lol Reavers. I don't think there's anythink wrong with taking a character in the main universe and completely redoing him. Who knows maybe the fan boys'll get what they want and we'll get to see Wade go from a calculating, capable merc to Deady. Or better yet we could see how he could have turned out if he never had anything to do with Weapon X and such. Taking more risks with established characters is a good thing.

Ultimate Deadpool is lame and possible even retarded.
Cable and Deadpool is usually a good read.
Dunno about anyone else.
Pretty much my feelings exactly.
And that costume is ace.

But why not just wear a normal helmet? They could've given him eyelids, at least.
That's the thing, everyone rips on Liefeld all the time, and then comes here to jerk off to Deadpool.
THE IRONY IS ALL CONSUMING
i mean come on
Everything good about Deadpool was done by other people.
The point remains, he's a Leifeld creation.
Spider-Man will always be funnier than Deadpool.
But Spiderman will never shoot Hercules in the face fifty times.
Because it is.

booties.
if i met a guy that talked like hercules i'd probably try to shoot him too
Deadpool:"Are you kidding me? Plenty stops the Juggernaut! The X-Men, The Hulk, Spider-Man... twice..."
There are some "OK" Deadpool jokes in this week's "Superman v Batman" issue.
