I recently purchased a hp laptop with a synaptic touchpad and it is designed to mouse click everytime I touch the mousepad and doesn't come with any way to disable this "feature". I've been googling for the past half hour and can't find a solution, no matter how many bios changes I do or which drivers I install. Anyone have any experience with or solutions to this problem? Thanks.
it should be under the touchpads config in control panel if the drivers for the touchpad, came pre-installed (they should be) , just look for something referencing "tapping".
if for some reason the driver isn't installed, than just download the synaptics touchpad driver and install.
if your not running windows, than your going to need to track down the driver, as the "tapping" is built into the hardware as always on, it's bloody anoying for any os that a decent driver doesn't exist for
I have mine in my system tray and I can right click on it and disable tap to click. Mine's a Gateway with a Synaptics Touchpad. It's also in control panel under mouse.
